Where to find Free Movie Screenings

oFlamingo 3,855 June 1, 2012 at 05:28 PM
Since January 2006, Slickdeals users have been taking advantage of free movie screenings all over the country! Just last week, some of our community members attended free screenings for Snow White and the Huntsman, Chernobyl Diaries and Piranha 3D. For the upcoming week, Brave, Rock of Ages and Madagascar 3 screenings are still available in certain areas. Where can you find these awesome free movie screenings?

Appearing on the first page of the Freebies forum is the often-forgotten List of Movie Screenings. With over 3,000 posts and over 1.2 million views, this thread lists screenings for over 120 cities including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Boston, NYC and many more.

Although most posts link to other websites that require additional registration, there are a few that are just give the time and place for a straight-up free movie - check out Ted on June 7 at 7:30pm in LA! And while some advance screenings are geared towards press and media and therefore don’t have prime seating available, you might need to exercise your own journalism skills in investigating which movie posts are relevant to you. At the moment, all 3,000+ posts appear like a normal list in the thread, often drowning screenings in your specific area. The best way to look for a movie screening is to use the “Search This Thread” function on the top right area of the thread page. Enter your city, and you should find all the relevant screenings in your area.

After taking advantage of your free movie screening, pat yourself on the back knowing that you just saved yourself $12! While doing that though, start brainstorming your movie review as you don’t want to be one of the 1,500 free movie watchers who simply forgot to post on the Hey I just watched a movie thread...!

I get tons of free screening passes from gofobo.com.

I must say, the screenings are obnoxiously crowded with the definition of people you dont want to be sitting next to in a theatre. Needless to say, I'd rather pay.
