Thanks!

But all gone..."as expected, the $999 MacBook Pro offer was limited and ended with the sale of the 500th unit in less than an hour."

so this does not have retina? (Not sure what retina is, and Google takes too many keystrokes, but my wife wants it)

no this is not the retina macbook pro which is not upgrade friendly, has a higher resolution screen, lighter and thinner.

Thumb'd for no tax. I've seen this deal at a couple local spots but tax usually kills it for me (so cal).

lol I'm still using my 15" 2.16 GHz Core 2 Duo (2006) MBP! I want to upgrade so bad but I'm leaning towards a Mac Mini since I have a work laptop now. Ughhh. Love the new 13" MBP but the resolution is lame!

Yeah that's the one thing that is holding me back. Apple might apply the retina display to the whole macbook pro line up later in the year...

No reason for them not to have improved the resolution on the 13" screen. They did so for the mba. It doesn't need to be a retina display just better than it is now. Apple is all about the profit.
