Nice writeup. I just got a Sony HDR-CX500V for the holidays. I haven't used it much, but I love the compact size & playback is sweet in HD.
I second the notion that if you see a price online that is "too good", please steer clear. There seem to be many sites (that even advertise on google's sidebar) that are scam artists. I ended up at BB for mine. |

Even digital cameras are still all about optics. Get something with good optical zoom. Youll need to weigh the portability vs your required featureset. Ive heard good things about the panasonic lumix ZS7 DMC TZ-10 in europe, it has a 12x zoom, but its bulkier than something like the Canon SD 1400IS IXUS 130 which has 4x zoom, would be cheaper and still might fulfill your needs. |
