I would love to get this so that it would force my wife to learn a liitle bout computer and todays technolgy. Instead of constantly asking me or my 10 year old Daughter for help.
I'm no dummy I also want it for me Wink Wink

I would buy 3 more to send to family members and set each up for remote access over the internet. Each family member would be able to back up family photos, videos, documents etc. for safe keeping. This way in case of fire or natural disaster everyone would have a safe off-site backup.

I would use this to help me setup my media center machine at home, and to use it as a DVR too!

Stream movies to my TV(dlna enabled).

I would use it to serve music and video. I also need a place to store the video that I shoot in my racecar so that I can edit it and watch different race tracks.

Consolidate all my media files (iTunes, video, etc) into a central location, revive my old websites/blogs that i used to keep for my car building antics and 2 separate ones for each of my children's antics. I've let them stagnate since it's a hassle to manage the Gentoo box i'd been hosting them on. I've got too much to do to be doing my own administration type stuff. This will replace the Cisco NSLU2 i'm currently using for network storage and was going to use as a mini-webserver (it's a bit too underpowered for that though).

I would use it for streaming music and general backups of music and movies on my home network .

I will be using it to output movies to my 42" HD LCD TV in my living room where it is more comfortable than my computer room where it is like 90 degrees. Plus I can lay on the couch.

I will use it as a NAS server to store pictures and videos of my 13 month old little girl. I also will store my entire music collection as well.
