Woke up this morning with Insomnia and decided to hit the nearest CVS's, 2 minutes away and 7 minutes for the second storewoot . Ended up with 9 Listerine, 2 Zantac, 5 Right Guard, 10 Arm & Hammer, 2 Excedrine, 3 Sally Hanson, and 3 Loreal Hip eye shadows. Took about an hour, came back home and was finaly able to sleep.
Ended up going back out at 9:30am after waking up again and having my morning coffee. Bought 7 more Right Guards, 3 Bodiheat 3packs(these had coupons attached to make them free after ecb), 1 Loreal Hip,1 Sally hansen1 Listerine and did the Battery Deal for the energizers.
I feel like an idiot having to buy batteries, but i forgot all the smoke detectors take 9 volts. Being woke up in the middle of the night by your smoke detectors chirping will make you get the batteries really quick.
All in all I did pretty well today. Total Before coupons for all 5 trips today was $242 after coupons I spent $17.42. I ended up with about $28 dollars more ECB alsoSmilie

I was able to return my opened, unused glucose monitor. Man, that scared me!
I used to work in retail, not sure if CVS is the same, but -- we'd take back anything that people chose to return. We didn't always resell it, sometimes it was discarded and the store ate the cost. I doubt that CVS could resell it with the seal broken. But they may take it back as a service to the customer.

I've always considered the definition of smash and grabber to be anyone besides me that shops at MY CVS's and purchases items that I would want to purchase or otherwise gets in my way or holds up the cashier line. Smilie

I've been on sd for a while now, but I've only ever browsed the Hot Deals board. This week I started reading on this drugstore board and I've learned a TON and already saved a bundle (you should see the amount of TGIF apps in my freezer--its amazing!). So this AM I headed out to my local CVS for my first ever FAECB shopping. Thanks to the snowstorm, CVS was dead. I was able to get 5 A&H, 6 RG, 5 Listerine, 2 SH, 2 eyeshadows, 3 Thermacare, and 2 Crest Prohealth (.99 each). I intended to do 1 transaction and end up with over $100 in ECB but the shift manager said she had 'time to teach a newbie' and showed me how to do 7 separate transactions and keep using my ECB to pay for the next order. Then she told me to go back to the pharmacy and get some $3 off of $15 coupons so I bought diapers, 2 bags of hershey's kisses and 2 bags of M&Ms (needed for a recipe) for a total oop of $19.xx. I was happy. nod

I went at 10am. I don't know if there aren't a lot of deal shoppers in my area, but they had plenty of each of the FAECB even after I got all my stuff.

I am going to go get dh an EC card and try again tomorrow. They will probably be all out but I'll give it a shot.

This is a good time for a snowstorm. laugh out loud -- Welcome to the DS subforum and I am glad you were able to save major $$$ using the advice from our great users down here! Smilie

I guess you better not mention the store -- or else the smash and grabbers will be out to attack the poor place. laugh out loud

Now I wish it had Rain out here -- it would of kept the smash and grabbers home.

That is a great manager. You should write to CVS or call the phone number and tell them how good they are; this goes a long way.

I would like to say that yes a few slickdealers maxed out their items (I was not one of them unfortunately) but if you have 6 people pushing buggies full of carts, on a 2 -day sale that's a little exessive. Save some for the rest of the people who would like the deals too

If I can, I'll go back tomorrow after work and see if there are any more deals to be had, but I wasn't going to wipe out the entire store and get management and cashiers PO'd at me.

I also would like to say that I hold yardsales AND donate. Wink
I think there is no good way to solve this. Are yardsales much different than people buying items and then reselling them in their stores? It is the same as people buying items from Hot Deals and the store going OOS and then seeing items on Fleabay or other places. And while the stores will have people complaining the retailers still win out because they make money from the Qs and move products.
