$17.50 1-Year Subscription to Cook's Illustrated Online Access (cooksillustrated.com)

Online access to Cook's Illustrated premium web content for only $17.50 for one year (was available for $12.50/yr up until they bumped-up the price to $17.50 on 2010-Jun-01). Regular annual website membership is $34.95. Please note, this is for online access to Cook's Illustrated only and does not include a print subscription.

(1.) Visit the following site to sign-up:
Code:
https://www.cooksillustrated.com/cds_auth/signup/default/join_step1.asp?Extcode=E8GP1FC0D
This link will bring you to a page for a "14-Day Trial Membership" (which is exactly like it is supposed to be...don't panic).

(2a.) Next, simply fill out the form completely and click "Continue."
(2b.) Note: You may see a check-box requesting that current print or web edition subscribers select/check it . . . do NOT check the box. Once again, even if you are in fact a current subscriber of the print or web edition, do not check the box titled, "Magazine Subscribers and Web Members."

(3a.) Moving on to the next web page that appears (titled, "Page 2 of 2: Enter Billing Information"), you should now be able to confirm that the discounted price is being applied. More specifically, it should say, "$17.50 Website Membership - Special 50% Savings."
(3b.) NOTE: If the price quoted is not $17.50, then you most likely have some sort of offending tracking cookie in your browser that is causing the discounted price to be invalidated. I suggest you (a) clear all cookies from your web browser, (b) delete/remove all temporary browser files/cache, then finally (c) close & re-open your browser. Once you've cleared the cookies & cache, try once again to visit the URL provided above . . . I've found this solution to work 99.9% of the time.

(4.) Once the 14-day trial has elapsed, your credit card will be charged $17.50 for the 1-year online subscription. As with virtually all magazine subscriptions, *be aware your credit card will AUTOMATICALLY RENEW at the end of the 1-year period*, unless of course you contact them to cancel before that point. Their phone number is: (800) 526-8442 and their customer service e-mail address is: webinquiry@americastestkitchen.com

Enjoy!

p.s. I do realize a similar offer was posted here last year but that discount code/link was not valid when I attempted to use it.

>>> TIP FOR RENEWALS / CURRENT SUBSCRIBERS <<<<

If you're up for renewal, a number of members have reported success by simply calling the main customer service number for Cook's Illustrated (800.526.8442) and requesting that your account be renewed for 1-year of online access for $17.50 and notify the representative that they should apply the following discount/coupon code: E8GP1FC0D . (note: after the letter "P", the number one follows, then letter "F", then letter "C", next is the number zero, and finally the letter "D"). If they want to know what the promotion code is for, simply notify them it is for one year renewal at the rate of $17.50.

Still works for a discount, $17.50 vs $35 after the 14 day trial.

Bumping because this is the first thing I see when I google "cook's illustrated online coupon" so other people probably do too.

Thanks!

Code is still valid not only for new customers, but can be used to renew your existing subscription. I just used it again for renewal at $17.50 (versus $29.95 for standard renewal).

When your account is up for reneal, just call customer service at 800-526-8442 and tell them you would like to renew your subscription using promotion code E8GP1FC0D (note it is "c <zero> d" at the end). When the ask what the promotion code is for, just say $17.50 subscription rate.

Deal still works. The current price for renewals is $34.95 if you're online only like me (and trying to save paper). $29.95 if you're a subscriber. And $17.50 if you use a new email address they haven't seen before (and maybe mailing address, which is what I did). I've done this two years in a row now.

This is less important, but eventually, I update my email address in account settings back to my normal email so I can keep it the same as all my other online memberships.

Looks like the discount offer still works. ($17.50)

But... I was a subscriber, and my subscription had lapsed. So I tried this link using a new email address, but using my same mailing address they knew about.

The transaction appeared to work, but when I attempted to log in to the content site, it said my subscription was expired (still). I logged into the customer service site, and discovered the process of trying to sign up with the discount link caused my old email address to be replaced with the new email address. My subscription was still expired, and my credit card did not get charged.

Bottom line: If your subscription has expired, signing up with this discount offer apparently won't work if you give enough info to link back to your existing account. I might try the phone call idea that was suggested earlier in this thread.

This year they rejected the code when I tried to call in and use it for my renewal. I decided to let the account expire last month.

Today (one month exactly after my membership ended) I received an email from them with an expired member special - two weeks free trial and $17.50 for one year.

I just got my renewal e-mail today, called the number (800-526-8442) and asked for the $17.50 rate, which you still see on the website when you sign up as a new subscriber. The gal briefly talked with her manager and then gave me the rate.

Still works! I just called and renewed for $17.50. No promo code needed. Thanks all! I would not have renewed otherwise as I, too, am disgruntled by all the "premium content" stuff that I can't access.

What's the best rate for the paper edition? My sub ends next month and I need a deal. All the deals' I've seen are $25 for 6 issues. I would love a multi year renewal.

thanks.

Yup that's why I have an offer in my inbox right now for 17.50 but I can't see all the content so I am not renewing.

Hi all,

Just called to verify that they will renew at $17.50 - they said yes. So, deal is still alive..

I also inquired about the other premium stuff, and the rep offered me $52.45 / yr to access all the premium stuff. I didn't bite...
