Staples new ink recycling policy changes Starts Feb 1
Here's some bad news for volume Staples ink recyclers. I was informed by the manager of my local store that a recent email went out to stores which instructs employees to limit ink recycling to 3 cartridges per day per customer. This may not sound like a change, but for those of us who have multiple Rewards accounts (even with completely different names and addresses for each account) this makes the daily trip possibly not even worth it.
When I asked for clarification she told me that the initial email had been sent several days ago to stores where records had indicated that multiple batches of three cartridges were being recycled all at the same time, but that the policy would apply to all stores (i.e., if you're thinking about just doing the same thing but at a different store, forget it). She claimed that corporate was saying the idea of the program was to get people into the store, and when only one actual person does the recycling for several the company decided to tighten the rules. (BTW, this is not simply a case of a cranky manager not wanting to deal with a lot of recycling. The manager in question is exceptionally helpful and straightforward. In addition, I was forewarned by an assistant manager several days ago who had read the same email before the manager did that changes might be coming.)
Has anyone else who recycles at Staples using more than one account been told the same thing? I always thought that recycling is a winner for both the customer and the store, but perhaps not. In my case it simply isn't worth it to sniff out parking and deal with traffic issues to only be able to recycle three cartridges each time I visit the store.
Starting July 1, 2010 each cartridge returned will have a value of $2 and not $3.
Ink Recycling only 10 per month per member as of 2/1/09. It really sux and nothing to do about it. Just got the flyer today. Don't shoot the messenger.
*** But premier member gets double recycling limit, that is 20.. ***thcheat
10 per month means $30.........
1/02/10 I know someone had asked before about having multiple accounts and I just wanted to let everyone know the exact way it works. I know this because I have a couple family members that we all have accounts and things got pretty screwed up because we ordered and shipped to different addresses.
If you use a rewards credit on any order online, you MUST ship to that address. You can not ship it anywhere else. The billing address can be different but the shipping address must be the same as the rewards number.
This is right from Staples CSR in delivery on 1/2/10 ...chewybtc
