We've had some sweeps that are still active get archived because of inactivity. Would it be possible to have something so that we could move them from the archive to the Forum without having to repost them?

If I remember correctly, I was told that even Mods/admin can't/won't move archived threads back here once archived.
My hopes have always been that when things are archived, anything that has not expired gets held out of archiving it.
We have end dates on almost every thread in C&S, so this would not be all that difficult to do.
Anytime an active sweeps gets archived and allowed to be reposted, the chance of SDmembers disqualifying themselves with multiple entries increases.
In C&S still active sweeps should NOT be archived, imho.
(active = those whose ends dates have not yet arrived)
The only solution given was that we mod-alert those threads that we don't want archived.
I don't know how we are supposed to do that without knowing when archiving is being done and what dates are covered.

Redsolar mentioned in a Mod Alert comment about extended the length of time for inactive sweeps before they go to the archive. I appreciate that, and think that will help, but I wonder how many current sweeps have already been archived?
Yes, I agree with java - the simplest way would be to NOT archive a sweep if it's still active. I've retyped this 4 times with different thoughts, but each one wouldn't work after chewing on it a bit. So, I have no suggestions.... It might help *a bit* if there were ways to search better (for ones about to go to archive), but that would mean someone would actually have to sit there and search all the time. Is there anyway a list can be generated (of those about to be archived)? Maybe we could take turns skimming over those then and checking the sweeps end dates?
The only thing I could come up with is if there was a button of some sort that appeared on archived posts, and if the sweep is still active, we could click it to alert Admins that it's not dead. Then, it could be moved back to C&S, almost like when they merge threads, only merging into the C&S Forum instead. I think something like this would work, but I don't know how much work it would take.
like javaflower said, you can mod alert a thread and asked for it not to be archived. i only suggest doing this if the contest last a very long time...like let's say a year and beyond.
if a thread does get archived and someone reposts it. we can edit the OP to with a message directing them back to the archived thread so others can see if they've entered it or not. FreebiesRGreat, this is what i did with the ford f150 thread earlier.
