Stockpile stuff you wouldn't mind donating or trading to another SDer

Thread Details

I was wondering if anyone had ever considered starting up a thread for donating stuff that you got free or cheap to another SDer?

I remember reading recently, but can't remember where, of someone who was looking for the soyjoy bars for a cancer patient. I, for one, have several boxes that I won't eat, and wouldn't mind donating to someone who could use it on here. Also, back when WAGS had their brand of claritin on special, I recall someone looking for extra boxes, which I might have as well.

I thought maybe folks would be willing to donate to another SD person if they needed a product. Kinda like the RAOK coupon thread, but with actual items. Of course, it would be up to you if you wanted to ship for free, .

Anyone interested?

I like this idea...but with the trading....I believe that SlickDeals has a $5 policy.....below is taken from the Official Trading thread in the freebies section

Quote :

1. Must be $5 or under (retail value, perceived value). Anything more will be removed (moderators reserve the right to remove your entire post if necessary). Repeat offenders will be warned.
2. Don't like the $5 rule? Don't participate here
3. You may only trade for something for $5 and under and only offer something $5 and under.
I just didn't want anyone to get a warning or anything.....there should probably a list of rules like in the official trading thread

Neat idea....
Here's what I've done: garage sale everything super cheap (everyone in your area will benefit), then donate 1/2 the proceeds to charity (& you get 1/2 to buy what you need). Last month I was able to write a $500 check to charity. Sure felt good, and they sure could use the $ !heart

I think that if it is strictly on a donating basis- no S&H charged (of course that will be rare, I'm sure) then it violates no SD rules. But if S&H goes over $5, I'm think mods will have to be alerted.

If it is a trade, then the trading forum rules would probably have to be followed.

I'm in Toledo, Ohio but wouldn't have a problem paying postage for a flat rate box (USPS Priority Mail).

My girl is out of diapers but we still need baby wipes - she won't go #2 in the toilet yet. *sigh* She goes in a pull up. GRRR

I'm looking for:
Crest Toothpaste
Baby Wash - any brand
Baby Wipes
Hair Conditioner (regular or leave-in)
Buddies Soap
Glade plug-ins or any good smelling Glade item
Maxi-pads (why did it bother me to type that in a forum? I'm 34 years old!! lol)
Degree Deodorant

I have:
Tons of Avon - eyelift, face creams, etc.
Paperback books galore
Amazon Gift Cards

Hm, well the requester could buy the shipping label, print it out and then snail mail it to the sender, I suppose. I kinda doubt they would allow scanning and emailing of the label, but not sure about that.
