Deal Details

My local Planet Fitness is going to be offering 1$ sign up and 10$/month, no contract. This deal starts April 1 and ends April 7th. I paid $29.99 when I signed up. I am located in SE CT. Not sure if this Nation wide, but worth a look.

I joined up on April 1st with this deal. They charge on the 17th of every month, and there is a $30 charge every October 1st for some BS about "rate protection".

Catch: It is a very basic gym, no frills. No deadlifting, no grunting and no dropping weights.

YMMV by location - mine allows deadlifting as long as you're quiet about it and don't make it a big fuss. Some others may be more crotchety.

Plus the squat rack is always empty. laugh out loud

How did you find out about this? I live in Milford and I am thinking about joining. I was going to go down there today, but if this deal starts on the 1st, I suppose I can wait. I am anxious to join. I have been putting off starting to work out, and all of a sudden I am in the "join the gym" mood. Want to get it done before I am not motivated anymore

Scratch that. I loaded the planet fitness page for my local location (http://www.planetfitness.com/milford/) in another window, and before it loaded, I responded to your post. As soon as I looked at the page, I saw the giant image that said $1 down, $10 a month, 1 week only. April 1-7.

It still lets me register now though for that price, I wonder how that works.

Anyone know if this is subject to annual rate guarantee? for my club it is in October and it is $29. Wondering if they'll hit me with this fee in October if I sign up for the $1/$10 offer now.
Trying to figure out what kind of savings this really is.

this was my pfs normal rate when i joined a couple years ago. but for 10 bux more a month , u could bring a guest with u everytime (which i did), get unlimited tanning, go to any pfs, and get discounts on drinks. pf is def. the cheapst gym ive ever seen. the one i went to was small but it was good for the money. oh yea they dont want heavy lifters there... no grunting or slaming weights aloud!

Awesome deal! I go to the facility at Falls Church VA and am happy with what i get for the $13 (considering the annual fee) a month. Sure the condition of the place could be a little better, but the price would go up to $40-$50 a month just like the other gyms in the area.

Just cancelled the membership at my local place that I was paying $52 a month for (unreal). May sign up here...how are their facilities?

This looks like a good deal. I just called one of my local PFs, and they said that this promo is subject to the "annual rate guarantee" fee of $30. Just an FYI.

You can join Planet Fitness for $1. It’s one week only and starts
Wednesday, April 1st (yeah, no foolin’). ☺

Anyway, the deal is $1 down, $10 a month, no commitment. Not bad for a gym membership, especially these days.

I was able to sign up yesterday. My local pf said they were starting the promotion a little earlier. They also wave the startup fee (which was $99 by me!!!) if you get the Black Card, which is $19.99 a month,

some news stations were talking about how the recession is causing some gyms to lower their membership fees. i guess this is a prime example. no planet fitness near me, but good luck to others.

if you like to lift heavy weights don't join.. they have a strict policy against "showing off" and grunting or making noises when you lift (even if it's to get that last rep out)..

yeah, it's not meant for arrogant meat heads that like to show off
