how would i use a background of my choice? how do i incorporate that into the iGO8 sw? the iGO8 sw i have has different backgrounds to choose from. is why i ask.

If you mean background in terms of while you have icons up (like where I have the generic windows swoosh) there is a quick guide in my second post that tells you how to do it.

If you want to change the loading screen for igo8 I think you hvae to replace a file in the branding.zip, see a few posts back. I haven't done it for a long time so when I do I will let you know what worked.

the background for when you have the Address,POI screen up. i have a choice of like 8 backgrounds when i go into the settings at that time. was just curious. thanks.

Oh those are going to be controlled by the skin you are using. Which skin are you using btw?

Anyone who got good skins please post, I would like to get a nice collection to try as well!

edit: i go to Settings>>arrow to page 2>>Menu>>then i got 3 choices...

i go into background and have 11 choices. would like to add some of my own of course. thanks as always.

when i go to add iGO8 in the setup you have, do i overwrite the destinator.exe that is in there? or is that the one i use and copy everything else over? thanks.

Defective unit??? Got mine today. Seems to be having touch screen issue. Out of the box. Power up, had to press ok about 20 times before it would take. Same with agree statement. Sometimes makes tick noise when I am not even touching it or picking it up without touching screen.
No hacks yet. Any ideas?

Honestly I haven't messed with the skins in igo much and when I did it was an older version a long time ago. if you can upload your branding.zip and data.zip maybe I can look inside them and see whats there to figure it out.

Anyone got the 4gb SD card from newegg and got it to work? I can't get it to work. Tried both, formatted as Fat 32 and Fat.

In my setup you put your igo install in the folder called igo. If the executable that runs igo is not named igo8.exe you will need to change it so it is named that.

You do not need to touch the destinatorapp folder or anythign in it in my package. All yoru changes should be made to other folders.

That does sound like a touchscreen issue. Are you using the stylus or your finger?

If you have a spare sd card around try my package and see if you get the same issues. If so it probably is hardware related

Which one do you have, your sure it's not SDHC?

A safe way to test is copy all the files from yoru original SD card onto it, then try to load with it. If that doesn't work but your original card does, then your card doesnt work or isnt compatible.

Tried stylus and finger. Does not make a diff. I will try diff sd card with your pkg for the heck of it but have a feeling it hardware related too. Thanks for the quick reply Devedander

I got that one posted on buy the OP of the other thread. How do i check if it's not SDHC? let me try with the original backup from the 1gb card.

It should say SDHC on it somewhere if it's HC. If it just says SD then it should be fine. If it's the one from the OP in the other thread its supposed to be confirmed working...
