Anyone know where to get POI's for Navigon?

Thanks for trying but no dice. I tried different PCs and reset modem and router.

Gave me the same error message tied to my IP address.

I ultimately had to take my router out of the loop to get a new IP address to the modem.

Very strange.

But after that I was able to DL the file.

You could try proxy but that might be more trouble than it's wroth.

I think I got Igo8, Navigon, Destinator, and Garmin working now.
I'll find out how they all will work tomorrow morning when I drive in to work.

anyone know roughly how large Navigon and Igo8 files are?

Figured it out.
Program02.mscr was calling the wrong executable. It should be:

RunWait("\SDMMC\Navigon\DestinatorApps\Destinator\Destinator.exe")

I thought the 4GB Transcend SD card from newegg that was posted in this thread was confirmed working?

great. When you are done testing, can you tell me which one is the fastest? (calculating routes, acquiring gps signal, recalcluating routes)

I don't care for the UI, or any POIs and such, just speed.

How to make it work with tomtom? Mine can not found the map

I'm curious about speed as well. I heard Garmin runs sluggish on these units.

So far I've tried Navigon and Igo, neither really impress me. Navigon did some funky routing and the Igo interface is cluttered. Maybe a new skin for Igo would help...

Planning on loading Tomtom tonight. I've put it on my HTC Mogul so shouldn't have any problem loading it on the Omni.

Actually program2 is correct, it's just assuming you put a clean copy of navigon in the navigon folder, not a hacked root from another card.

If you just have a clean copy of Navigon, it's all just in the Navigon folder and the executeable is named navigon.exe. So it would work.

BTW I would go into your SDMMC\navigon folder and clean out anything thats not in the destinatorapps folder as it's not necessary and taking up space.

Great work on figuring it out! Hopefully since you have that nailed it will make any more modifications a breeze!

There are a lot of skins, and while they tend to ADD rather than take away features, I bet you can find a pretty clean one.
