Thanks for the responses. I did report it to the CVS 800 number. The rep was just as appalled. He is going to have the DM give the MOLC a talk about appropriate conversation. I feel bad because I should have said something at the time.

Has anyone seen the $1 off Refreshe soda Q at SW? See post #4628 in SW thread (sorry, don't know how to link yet). Supposedly 12pk of soda for $1 + CRV. I went to 2 stores in San Jose area, none of the boxes had a Qs attached.

Couldn't find them at the Natomas store either. I looked everywhere.

wave Hi Everyone,

Petsmart: Sheba canned cat food has BOGO peelies, exp 12/31/12. My store had them on a side-cap display, tons of stock and every single can had the peelie. These are 3 oz cans. I believe this is new packaging as they used to be in a tray container. They were on sale this week for $0.55, so 2 for $0.55 is a very good deal if you use this.

Also, I shared this website about cat food on the RA chat thread, but will post here for any cat owners who may be interested. http://slickdeals.net/f/4240294-chat-Rite-Aid-Chat-Thread?v=1&p=51780812#post51780812

Have a good weekend everyone. Smilie

Hi Rejoyce, those are awesome prices-thanks for the report.

I use kale all the time-its a "super food" in my book. I've never seen it in a one lb box. Do you know if its baby kale by any chance?

Yes, you can cook kale, just like other types of "greens", i.e. collard, spinach etc. Depending on the type of kale, it might have to be cooked/steamed longer than others to be tender. If its not baby kale, then you'll want to de-stem it as the stems are very bitter tasting (to me anyway). I just grab each piece by the stem and rip off the leaves-pretty quick to do.

I haven't stir-fried it, but I stir-fry spinach so kale should work too. It might need to be covered and steamed a bit to soften it up. Most varieties take longer to cook than spinach.

I also use it raw in my green smoothies. A very popular thing right now is to make kale chips by roasting the kale leaves in the oven. There are lots of simple recipes online for this.

Enjoy and let me know what you and your Mom end up making.

For those who did not do the rebate for Smirnoff yet. Lucky is having lots of BOGO meat sale this week. Good time to take advantage.

thanks Doicare! i like kale a lot, dont mind the unique flavor, this was not baby kale iirc, but a great deal. last time i only got 5 oz boxes for 99c each. will have to try raw kale in smoothies (hadnt thought of it) and yes, ive heard of kale chips, hope hubby will eat it like potato chips. thx again!

Yup, I stir fry it with my eggs all the time. When that box starts to wilt a little throw leftover kale in a freezer bag and you are good to go, I throw frozen kale in my soups and stir fry. Use it like you would spinach.

Yes, last time I got it at 99c store it was baby kale. Rejoyce you can tell if the leaves are like 3-4 inches long. Large Kale is like 10 inches long per leaf.

Here's my favorite Kale recipe. The first time I had it, was at a fancy restaurant (for $20!!), but so easy to make. I buy the bagged chopped up Kale, makes this recipe even easier.

That looks yummy. Will definitely try it but will leave out the olive oil & see it it works that way (am about 90% on the Dr. Esselstyn plant-based, no added oil diet). Thanks for sharing.

That kale salad looks fantastic!

I have a favor to ask. I got a new laptop bounce but I can't seem to make it print Target Qs Crying2 (other IPQs are no problem, go figure). I need the $3.25/2 Gerber Good Start formula Target Q. Would any kind soul who won't be using this Q be willing to print it for me? I'm happy to send a SASE or arrange a trade if there's something you're looking for. Please PM. Thanks, all. Happy Friday!
