I'm not thread crapping, I'm amusement park crapping. Unless they've limited their daily attendance since the last time I was there you couldn't pay me to go back.
It's hit or miss, like any other amusement park. Most of the trip reports I've read for the last couple of months talk of less than 1 hour waits for MF/Maverick/TTD, less than 15 min waits for Magnum/Wicked Twister/Iron Dragon/etc.
You sound bitter. Maybe you should try a weekday in early June.
That said, I've also heard that the $25.99 tickets are only in a few Meijer locations about 60-90 mins from Sandusky. So probably a pretty huge YMMV here even if they will accept the Getaway Guide coupons.
I'm in Marion, IN, about 4 hours from Sandusky and my Meijer was $25.99. My sister in law, from Grand Rapids, MI, said that they were $40 at here Meijer...so it's definitely YMMV, but I put that in the title! Good Luck!
Just got back form our trip to Cedar Point...tickets worked just fine. They were all day tickets, not sure why my meijer was selling them for so cheap, but it worked out great for me and my students...
I called my Meijer/s in metro Detroit area, and the ticket is not 25,.99 (regulr before coupon); would like to know the stores where the price is 25.99 and also those which accept coupons, if it is on the way to the park; would be a great deal to pick the tickets up on the drive-in..
Is it possibel to compile alist of Meijers that have this price and post in the Wiki.. thanks
P.S: thanks DSpin, he posted a list while I was typing this !!
EKTrunks, thank you SO MUCH for posting this. I almost bought Cedar Point tickets at Meijer in Fort Wayne for $37.99 and never thought to use my Getaway Guide coupons. Instead, I trekked down to the Marion store and got them for $25.99 and they took my $7 coupons too! Can't believe I got tickets for our family for $18.99 - yippee! I paid less for 6 tickets than I would have for 3 at Meijer in Ft Wayne or at the gate w/ my coupons.
I had no clue there were price variations for theme park tickets at the different Meijers and would never even considered trying the Marion store or using the Getaway Guide coupons (which don't specify anywhere on them that they have to be used at the gate only) if you hadn't posted.
Just a note to others - when I was in there late Friday night, I bought the last 6 Funday tickets they had (actually needed 7). The Customer Service desk worker had no clue if they had additional tickets in the office or anywhere else, or if they would be getting more. She also refused to write a raincheck for $25.99 so I could get them in Fort Wayne for that price. My suggestion - call before you make a drive, just in case they haven't re-stocked.
Pretty sure the reason they offer this rate is to get you to come into the store with the hopes will you buy other stuff. I seriously doubt any store is going to do this for you.
I was looking at this from a different perspective - the stores on that list are in the Indianapolis disctrict/region/area, so I was thinking Cedar Point set the ticket prices and was targeting those folks who live a littler farther away and may not be willing to make the trip without very reduced ticket prices. Who knows!
I too highly doubt Meijer woudl be willing to sell the tickets over the phone and mail them though - I find them to be fairly customer service oriented, but not quite that much!
