Enhancement Request: Ability to hide expired deals
I searched the forum and did not find a response to a similar request...What would be the likelihood to have an option to hide expired deals on the main slickdeals.net startup page? Thank You. |

The personal views and opinions expressed in this post are exactly that and do not necessarily represent an official opinion or stance of Slickdeals and this is a disclaimer in case I say something stupid. In fact, anything I say should not be taken seriously.

A while ago one of our users sent me a code for a bookmarklet to do just that, until we have a more permanent solution
What you need to do is copy the following code, and paste it as a "new bookmark" in your browser. --------Copy below this line-------- Code:
javascript:var s=document.getElementsByTagName('div');if(navigator.appVersion.indexOf('MSIE')>=0){for(var i=0;i
Alternatively, copy it using this link http://pastebin.com/f12c23d94 The code should be pasted into your "URL" (internet explorer), "Location" (Firefox), "Address" (Opera or Safari) field, and call it "Show/Hide Expired SlickDeals" (or whatever name you want for it) I have attached 2 screenshots on how to do that for internet explorer 7, it's very similar for the rest of the browsers I mentioned Then once you are on front page, just click on that bookmark to toggle show/hide expired deals. It's not perfect, since it does not store the state between page reloads (i.e. you have to click it every time you visit/refresh slickdeals.net) but it's better than nothing. I am sorry I don't recall who gave it to me to give proper credit, however. Maybe if that user sees it, he (or she) will come forward .

Also, it seems to work best if the bookmark is on your Bookmark Toolbar (under the address bar) rather than just a generic bookmark |
