The tape is mostly identical that I posted . But the non automotive one is narrow tape. The generic one that I posted is wider that you need to spilt into two.. cheaper than automotive one in price

It's what I used when i replaced my ventside visor tape... The one provided by AVS peeled off and my visor flew off @ 65mph+ (hence why I said use the automotive tape instead)... cantalup says they're the same though, so IDK...

Gotcha Smilie I've never used the "general use" one, only the automotive.... I can vouch that that thing will stick until bolts start flying off with the automotive use tape lol... My lip kit's been on my car with this stuff for about 9 years now (since 2012)... Still stuck on there, hard as a rock.

P.S. Did my due diligence on reading both tapes.... I'd still take my vote for the automotive tape.. They are NOT the same, they may LOOK the same but they're not. The automotive tape's compound lets it conform to the shape of whatever you're mounting on better, and on top of that, it's built to be a PERMANENT solution that's meant to be used like a GLUE to put parts together.

just to confirm, yours were in-channel? cause that is the problem. i see a lot of recommendations for tape, but most are using the visors that stick on the outside, not the ones that slide into the window channel.

it is the same, been using for decades. I posted heavy duty double side tape. the difference is wider or narrow. do not believe? get both and use it both to compare...
double side outdoor heavy duty tape is "PERMANENT" solution, you can not yank it, it do.. you will break the surface or paint surface .

there is the easy way to remove by using fishing threads, not easy but not damage the surface.

been using in my DIY, cars, computers and even in crawlspace to mount it on the cinder block

it is up to you, buy $$ or less $....

the double side tape is stick on outside surface :-D, it is permanent placement, if you need to remove without damage the surface, (not yank it) in the future, use fishing threads gently.

I never see the groove aka in-channel model in 15 years... even Toyota (coughing) sells visor with double side tape 3M. you stick it and assume permanently :-P

those are my exp... ymmv
have fun!

yeah. thats why i specifically said in channel. the venshades in this deal, as well as mine, mount in the window channel. glad i didnt waste money on the stuff you suggested. thanks anyways.

and the 15 years comment is weird. the in channel visors are growing in popularity. most of the better brands are in channel. avs, weathertech.

Mine's are not the in channel ones. Mine's are the sleeker looking ones, the ones that sit almost flush to the window. I think they're called seemless ventshade visors:
