Lowes - 25% off Owens Corning Oakridge 30 year shingles 9-3 thru 9-7 (in stock only) B&M /YMMV
Lowes is advertising 25% off their Oakridge 30 year laminate shingles(in-stock only). This puts them lower priced than thier 20 or 25 year shingles. In my local area (NC) that comes to $21.19/bundle. I know roofs are expensive to put on but I would rather pay 25% less for the shingles.

To make deal sweeter...Lots of Lowes are offering 6 months same as cash (if purchased on Lowes card). If you don't have a Lowes account you can get 6 months same as cash and 10% off for your 1st purchase (after credit approval)

I bought the 25 year OC Oakridge shingles last year about this time with the 25% off. I also opened a Lowes CC at the same time and added an additional 10% to my savings. These shingles look great. Instore colors are pretty limted though, black, tan, brown, and green. These offers never apply to special order colors.
Are any of the shingle colors energy star qualified? It's usually only the light and/or white shades. If yes, you can get the federal income tax credit.
The only Energy Star shingle color in the Owens Corning line is White and that is only availble in 20 year and 25 year. There are NO Energy Star Colors in the Oakridge line. On the West coast they have released the Duration Cool Roof line which is Energy Star compliant. Just go to http://www.owenscorning.com and type in the search bar "energy star shingles"

My roofer suggests the GAF Timberline 30 year. I told him about the Oakridge being 25% off and he said that is a good deal. If I can get the 10% off movers to stack, he said to go with the OakRidge at approx $19/bundle as the timberline is $24 a bundle. That will save me approx $850 in materials.
I was still debating, untill I read online that CR did a shingle test back in June of this year. The Oakridge was rated a CR best buy, it ranked 7th overall, everything that rated higher was 2-3x more expensive.
ARGH! I miseed this sale by a week!! Does anyone have a receipt or a quote from the weekend that I can try and get them to PM to? I know its a long shot, but we are talking about a $650 price difference.
