Might as well have one of these since OT seems more interesting than the usual bickering over live vs. psn.

Now, who wants to talk about how LEET they are? -_-V

thumbing up my thread because I can.

What did you get?
My vendor schwag flashlight kicked last night on a ride. Maybe.... it's weird. It worked fine during the ride but wasn't when I got home. When I unscrew the cap all of the way off then just barely start to screw it back on, the light will flicker and stay on. But every time I screw the cap on further, it shuts off. Eh....it was free. But I liked it. Can you recommend an inexpensive replacement? This would go on the lock block on my handlebars and would be mostly for others to see me, not for me to see at night.

If it is just for others to see you, try THE flashlight. I thought everyone on Slickdeals bought one of these at some point - http://www.amazon.com/UltraFire-3...006E0QAFY/ - you might have to unscrew the clip to make it fit but it is fairly bright and uses AA so it is worth a shot.

Cool, that is a serious LED in that light. Hope the battery is decent.

Me too. Of the two 18650s I have now, my Samsung seems to be the better battery, and it claims to be made by Samsung.

You know what sounds great to have on your bike so cars won't hit you...a flashlight with self a described "Blinding Effect" laugh out loud

But seriously...what do you got for cheap, super long shelf life that I can just keep around the house for random usage. That one you just linked?

For super long shelf life, you want a light that has little to no parasitic drain. I know that seems obvious but that is what you need to find. If you go AA/AAA, some Eneloops would be great for those lights. I use most of my lights frequently enough that I regularly swap batteries whether they need them or not. My less-frequently used ones get stored without batteries in them. I'd say give that one in the link a try. Buy a few of them, they come on the slow boat anyways.

Tenergy Centura is a good LSD battery too, I've been using those as my main rechargeables for a number of years now.
