Thanks for the "Savingstar" info... I was unaware of the program. Am I reading their site correctly.... do I get some keytag from the HyVee customer service desk? TIA

HyVee does participate in Savingstar. (Jewel and CVS do too if they're in your area.) Upromise merged into Savingstar, so right now I have my Upromise keytag registered on both the Upromise and Savingstar sites because occasionally the deals are site-specific. (Normally, they cross over, and it tracks it such that you can only activate on one site. I like Savingstar better because that money can be transferred into your Paypal or bank account as opposed to Upromise going to a 529.)

I just got an email from Savingstar that their new HyVee-linked card will be the HyVee FuelSaver card, so I picked one of those up at their customer service desk. I don't think that program starts until December 5th, so I don't know if that tag will work for you right now. I'm going to wait to register it until early December.

For Savingstar, you'll need to "activate" their deals before shopping. Typically, new ones come up on the 1st of the month and then every Thursday. If you buy multiples of their deal, you only get credit once. Payouts are available when you have $5 in the account; I don't believe they expire. I don't go out of my way to buy their deals; however, I've saved $33 this year. It's better than nothing - particularly when couponing in Iowa.

THANKS!! Last week when I was in a rush thru Hy-Vee, I noticed they had a table set up in the produce section, with several people working, and I saw them with applications, and asking customers to sign up... I heard one person say... "and you will save $2 in gas today".... so MAYBE that was what they were signing people up for. I will check tomorrow when I go back in.

I saw the gas savings card on their website last week and signed up. Waiting the 2-3 weeks for my card to arrive in the mail. If they're giving a $2 bonus to sign up in store I'm gonna kick myself for signing up online.

That's the thing. It's on my kitchen table - lol. I sure wasn't offered $2 off in gas though! It's an 8.5"x11" sheet of paper folded in half. Outside has a red fuel pump on a blackish background. Says "HyVee Fuel Saver" and then "SAVE BIG." There's a store card and 2 key tags inside.

The $2 savings is when you buy certain items, you can get up to $2 a gallon...kind of like their old gas busters if your store did those. My guess is you will have to buy a lot of products that aren't on sale to get $2 off a gallon.

You can price match at HyVee or WM, use the Kraft printables from last month, NLA and insert qs from 11/11/12 for some really CHEAP products. The printables were pretty high value, so Miracle Whip would be .28ac, Cracker Barrel .48ac, Gevalia 3.78ac, Velveeta 2.98ac, etc.

I got gas at a Casey's earlier this week. After I scanned my debit card the screen ask if I had or told me to scan my HyVee gas saver card. That's the first time I had seen it. Guess I need a card!

I finally filled out the gas card application in the store. I had mentioned earlier they I overheard one of the employees saying something about getting $2 back when filling out the application..... well, what it was is, they give you an extra coupon to use at the gas station for an additional 10 cents off a gallon that you can use in conjunction with the discount that you are currently getting from your receipt. Just a little one-time perk to use before this program launches.

Hy-vee has Eggo Waffles 2/$3 this weekend. If you have a Kelloggs Rewards account, they have $1.50 coupons for only 100 pts through Dec 3. They would be FREE after this coupon.

Guess I will stop in on Friday to see what's included.
