Coupon Policy:

Hy-Vee is happy to redeem your coupons. The following rules apply when accepting vendor coupons clipped from newspapers or magazines, received by mail, or obtained legitimately from the internet:
  • The coupon must be legible.
  • The coupon should have a scannable bar code (UPC) and a remittable manufacturer’s address.
  • Coupons must have an expiration date and must be used within the stated time frame. Expired coupons will not be accepted.
  • Only one vendor coupon per item will be accepted. However, a customer may use a vendor coupon in combination with a Hy-Vee coupon on the same item.
  • Coupon values that exceed the price of the item will not be accepted.
  • Soft drink container caps will be accepted.
Due to increased fraud, the following two additional rules apply to internet coupons:
  • Vendor coupons that involve any kind of free product will not be accepted, including “buy one, get one free” offers.
  • A Store Director has authority to set monetary limitations (for example, $2.50 per coupon) for the acceptance of internet coupons at the Store Director’s store.

Today in Marion I got 4 boxes of keebler crackers, and 4 boxes of Keebler cookies. Used 4 of each of the 1.50/1 from the kelloggs rewards program, also got 10% off for being wacky wed. Total was a little over $9.00 but I also earned 24 cents for the gas deal!

The 1st Wed of every month you get 10% off everything you can fit into a brown paper bag, excludes the usual like alcohol, gift cards etc. As far as I know none of the CR stores do this. Wish they would though!

HyVee/Fareway GM promo . . .

HyVee Hamburger/Tuna Noodle Helper $0.88/box this week + other nice General Mills prices in HyVee ad. Combine with Fareway's $5/10 item promo to get cheap GM products.

Went to Fareway with my mother tonight. I did 6 Grands @ $1.10 + 3 tuna noodler helper + Pillsbury cinnamon rolls @ $2.39 = $11.63 - two $0.50/3 IP for the Grands - $0.75/3 for the Helpers = $0.50/1 for the cinnamon rolls - $5 Fareway coupon = $4.88. I asked the manager about the Helper price being < $1.01 (specified in ad); he was fine with it since original price was > $1.01.

Green giant steamers are also $1.50 at my Fareway, so I did a similar transaction with other GM stuff. Steamers had a $0.50/1 coupon + Fareway promo = $0.50.

My mother got Progresso soups (which Fareway kindly automatically matches to HyVee at $1.34) and Nature Valley Granola Bars (HyVee 3/$7). Soup x 8 + NV x 2 = $15.38 - two $1/4 Progresso (also $0.50/2 available in 1/6 SS) - $0.50/2 NV - $5 Fareway coupon = $7.88. She was happy for her Progresso at $0.59/can.

In sum . . . Helpers $0.13, Grands $0.43, Steamers $0.50, Pillsbury cinnamon rolls $1.39 . . . good deals to be had.

Betty Crocker fruit snacks in HyVee's ad are also decent if you have need. Four boxes w/in-store coupon - two $0.75/2 from 1/6 SS + $0.50 Savingstar credit = 4/$3.

Too bad HyVee doesn't match Fareway and take Fareway coupons. I'd be all over the Savingstar then. laugh out loud

I was still finding these peelies recently so still worth keeping an eye out if anyone's interested. Last week HV oatmeal was $1.58 and part of the fuel saver thing (I can't remember how many cents you got off) but it probably would not have been worth it.....found a couple of those $1/1 peelies though and $.58 was totally worth it.

On that note, I really like the fuel saver program....of course a LOT of the things are not great deals at all but there always seem to be a few things each week that are OK deals, or that I need. One week they had Betty Crocker pizza crust mixes included @ 5/$4, which is about the lowest they seem to go here, and I have to get this brand due to my dd's peanut allergy. This week I went into Collins Rd. Hy-Vee and they had a deal where you bought any gallon of milk and got $.10 on the fuel saver card. Their milk was of course on the high end but it wasn't atrocious and still within what the normal range is around here as long as you bought HV or midwest country fare brand....other name brands more of course. I think the key is just buying multiples of the good deals. I am up to $.63/gal. with a couple weeks left before I will fill up. It's kind of a fun game laugh out loud

Mine doesn't either and if I remember right I don't think runninmama and I are in the exact same area but close......

I know here Hy-Vee probably just doesn't *need* to (and I think it's up to the individual stores.) Soooo many people around here will just shop at Hy-Vee for all of their groceries 'just because'.....even though their regular prices are atrocious. I will never understand...laugh out loud Our Fareway does match all of Hy-Vee's prices though, automatically. Every week everything that's on sale at Hy-Vee is also marked at Fareway for that price too, even special sales.

Mine doesn't price match either.

At Fareway I tried to price match pop to KMart and they refused. Said they would only match to HyVee. (HyVee, Fareway, and KMart are all that I have in my area)

Are you all in bigger areas. I shop in Denison Iowa, which has maybe 8,000 people. We can price match any store within 30 miles at Hyvee and Fareway, even Walmart and dollar general.
