Seems like a good idea... Ralph's is great with double coupons... I'll start off I guess Smilie

Hot Pocket Calzones are on sale for $1.80; .75 off coupon (5/13 Val) doubles to $1.50. So you pay .30

Scotch Brite Heavy Duty sponges are free. On sale for $1, $1.00 off coupon in the 5/20 Val, so free Smilie

Thanks for the invite... Although I am not that familiar with how Ralph's and Vons work in terms of couponing, I figure that even with their "higher" prices compared to places like Winco and Super Walmart (in Chino) that you can save more using the coupons correctly and specials just like CVS.

So will be looking forward to see how this works and what coupons you use outside of SmartSource and Valasis.

Was going to think about going to the GG to get lists -- but the impending strike has made me hold off for now.

Cool idea. Have subscribed, although I am not in CA. I do shop at the Safeway equivalent here and am always on the watch for deals. I think our ads are often very similar.

Not sure if your stores have done this, but ours now have a section for 'clearanced' meats, where they put the stuff that has a 'sell by' date of today or tomorrow. Usually these only have a 30% off sticker on them, and often have the 'special price tag' pulled off, but I check these sections everytime I'm in the store, as sometimes they throw a GREAT deal in there. For example, 50 or 75% off, with the 'special price tag' left on, or better yet, a set price of 59, 79 or 99 cents for the whole package. I have bought lots of ground turkey, ribs and roasts from this section.

Now I just wish our stores would double larger coupons. Ours triple coupons up to 39 cents and double up to 50 cents. No competition to do more than this.

Where are these golden Albertsons you all are going to? I had no luck at the one off of Van Nuys Blvd. and Sherman Way in Van Nuys.

I am in RSM, CA I went to the Albertsons in Trabuco Canyon this evening, here is what I bought:

1 charmin - we needed TP and I had a $1 cpn I got in the mail
1 Always - had $3 catalina from Pavilions
2 Progresso - used $1/2
2 Green Giant box used $1/2
1 Green Giant bag used $1/1
1 Bisquick used $1/1
2 Warm Delights, used $1/2 from brochure I got in mail

Also bought 3 lb hamburger chub that was deal for $4.99
blueberries 2 6 oz at .99 each, 3 day sale
orowheat bread $1.79

8 boxes of Pasta Roni - only had 1 $1/4 coupon
3 cans black eyed peas - kids love them
gillette shaving cream - DH needed

anyway the 3 $5 coupons printed no problem, and it automatically gave me the $5 off for buying the roni. Total $48.88, total saved $49.74

I know I am late getting on the wagon, spent the whole week cleaning out the garage, yuck.

Have to get on the band wagon and see if I can do another run!

Thanks all,

Laurawave

I get the LA Times and the San Diego Union-Tribune home delivered. I noticed immediately how thin they were - I couldn't believe it. I can't remember the last time I saw such a thin Sunday paper. I think that one of my papers was missing a redplum coupon insert. However, because the insert is so thin this week I'm not 100% positive - it may just be hidden in the paper and too hard to locate.

There is a PetSmart insert with a coupon for buy 20 cans of cat food, get 2 free. Woohoo!

End of vent. The Rubio's insert has a $1 off coupon good on any purchase. Use it to get a free churro ($1) or $1 off one of their cheap fish tacos (< $2), not valid during their Taco Tuesday hours.

Vons has 100 Calorie packs on sale for $2 each thru Tuesday, 1/13. There is a Catalina promotion going on through 2/1: buy 3 and get $2, buy 4 and get $3, buy 5 and get $4 off your next order. In today's 1/11 Smartsource there's a coupon for $1 off 2 Nabisco 100 calorie snack packs. Buy 4 of them using 2 of the $1 coupons, pay $6 and get $3 off your next order!

There's also a $1 off coupon for 2 half gallons of Alta Dena milk in the same insert, directly adjacent to the Nabisco coupon. It says do not double at the bottom but starts with a 5. If you use it at Keil's (in San Diego) or I assume How's in LA area it will double automatically unless the cashier manually overrides it.

.
Rubio's insert?!?!? Shocking I didn't get one of those!!! no fair!! Taco Tuesday is on this weeks menu, too (and DD doesn't eat those, so the coupon would have worked.) Lucky you!

Albertson's P&G deal ends Tuesday, right?

Ralphs has $1 off Oscar Meyer Hot Dog coupon blinkie up. Expires next month.

Strangest thing happened today. I drove to a faraway walmart (not Superwalmart) to get lots of papers today. (I was goign to head to Ralphs, but decided to drive further away so I could buy more papers for the Huggies coupons this week... I would gladly take any that you are not using...!) . So as I'm loading up my newspapers into the car, I'm approached by this lady. Nicely dressed. She asks, "Are you busy now?"

Now, I don't know about you, but I always have weird people come up to me at Walmart that always trying to sell me something that I don't want. So I hesitate and tell her maybe....

She said she was filming for a TV station up the street where all these houses are foreclosed on in a row. The family they were featuring was having a garage sale but they couldn't get anybody to come because it was a Sunday. They needed some people to shop at the garage sale to be on the background for TV. I hesitated and she said "here, I'll give you $5 to shop at the sale, just follow me up there, you don't have to stay long, just buy one thing and go, keep the change." There was another family she got to go with her too. We both followed her to the house. I was so lucky, because the family's son just outgrow the size clothes MY son is just getting into. I walked out of there with an entire copy paper box full of jeans and shirts for my son. I think I ended up with 2 pairs of shorts, 10 shirts, and 8 pairs of pants and a Hungry Hungry Hippos game for the $5. Oh, and 3 pairs of baseball pants that are too small for my son and I will pass on to someone else.

So, maybe I will be on TV, maybe not. I had on really nice clothes to go to church this morning but DH came down with the stomach flu the rest of us have had lately. So I changed into grubby clothes so I could grab my papers and then clean the rest of the day. Just what I want to be wearing if I end up on TV... Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) the chances are slim that I will see it, so chances are slim I will be embarrassed by myself, right? laugh out loud

On the last 3 transactions no coupons were used at all. I paid full value of $35.56 and still no cats. Does anyone know if when they are doing maintenace at night maybe they will still print random cats from products you buy, but not for calculating promos or something. I know the cats say not to be used on p&g but I have several times without a problem. I went to the same store today and did 2 transactions getting the pampers diapers and wipes with coupons and rolled cats no problem. And bounty is P&G from your transaction and your cats printed fine. I doubt many cashiers could not tell you what items are P&G laugh out loud

With previous Vons catalina deals I have always had problems with the Chex mix! Seems like there are certain flavors that are included, and others that aren't. I was going to buy the chex mix, but was scared to, based on past experience!

In very tiny fine print, the cats do say that you can't use them to buy more P&G items. could that be why the new cats didn't print? I haven't ended up buying more P&G items (that I know of!).

today I did this:
2 Dasani = 10
1 bounty = 10
1 Fuze = 1.25
3 gg veg = 7.50
1 bc potatoes = 1.67

used coupons, as well as my previous cats and it worked like a charm. The sco lady was concerned about me, since I was carrying a sleeping baby--she ended up scanning all my stuff and coupons, and was so pleased for me when I got new cats bounce She mentioned she had done this deal herself, but didn't realize the water was on it. She's going back later Wink
Shouldn't I get commission for that?

Cats have printed at night as Ive gone to Albies as close to closing time, give20 minutes before and had them still print so IDK if its your area or what.

Now that Rubios Q is awesome as I'm going to sift thru the paper and see tommorrow if its there as when the old promo was going on for free fish tacoss it was like every few receipts had that survey thingy and you got soething free, whats the exp date on that.

Btw isnt the Vons Oceanspray deal till Tuesday and after you buy 5 it comes out to $1 each. There was a $1 Q in the paper FYI so pay CRV and thats all. Q is for Diet or Light so hmmmm....

Thanks to the OC Register deciding to raise newspaper prices to 75 cents daily and $1.50 on Sunday, the LA Times here in OC has decided to match their price increase and is now charging the same price at the coin operated newsstands. Frown

Before, the LA Times would be $0.25 cheaper on Sundays ($1.25 compared to $1.00) to get you to buy their paper instead of the OC Register. I guess with the LA Times parent company filing bankruptcy now, they need every single $$$ they can get.

Yeah, the papers also seem a lot thinner also with a lot less ads. I figure since their ad revenue is way down, they have to charge extra for the newspaper now.

Hmmmmm nope. That was Thursday night at 11:30 pm when my car wouldn't start after my walgreens run about 20 minutes from my house and I had to call AAA for a jump start. LOL.
I went back to the same store yesterday and did 3 more transactions and everything worked perfectly. The manager even told me tjst shoild be getting one more big delivery before the promo is over so i should come back to her store. They know i go to a few stores so i dont clear shelves.

When I am rolling the cats I usually have more to cover the P&G portion because I get the rice a roni buy 8 get $5 off meat for some free roast and lots of 10/10 lunchables. I just don't seperate the transactions to not have ANY P&G. Sometimes you just have to know that there will be problems and since I too work retail I think I am more patient when something goes wrong and the stores try to figure it out.
