You can take the extra hundred and get a 1TB drive and an extra 8GB of ram
$450: i3 + 16GB + 1TB SSD > $450: i5 + 8GB + 256GB SSD
if you are going low end, you are going low end.. you wont be bottlenecking the i3 over the i5 with the use cases for low end gear..
Am I alone on this?
Looks like it doesn't have power delivery. But has has usb-c

I don't buy HP products anymore. They design them to be unfixable, and then don't stand behind the product.

Well this one doesn't solder the memory, It sounds like any manufacturer that solders the memory could run into that factor.
Yeah the screen is shockingly bad but I cant say youll get much better in this price range, also the design of the laptop series is not amazing so it can get hot! I can also feel the sharp plastic edges as this is the low end model. Still cheaper than BF deals but major caveats to consider.
The CPU fan has a rough pitch and can't seem to throttle itself properly. My Ryzen laptop Dell doesn't even turn its fan on until a game is played or heavy application even then the sound pitch is much more subdued. I ended up giving my HP away to a family member with a broken laptop due to weak screen and fan noise.
