Deal Details

Based on other suggestions, I decided to make this its own thread. If the moderators wish to merge it that is fine but this way I believe it will get more peoples attention since it is a brand new deal...

Plan includes 1200 minutes / 3000 texts or MMS / 100mb data usage

1) Offered by Page Plus Cellular; a Verizon Wireless MVNO (Reseller).
2) No activation fee. No fees. No taxes.
3) Same coverage area as Verizon Wireless Prepaid.
4) You may use: a) ANY Verizon Postpaid handset with a clean ESN. (Except banned list below!) b) Other CDMA handsets may possibly be used with/without flashing.
5) $29.95/Month fee can be lowered even further by purchasing refill cards at various discounters.

Page Plus: http://www.pagepluscellular.com/

More Info: http://www.howardforums.com/showt...?t=1576900

Coverage Map: http://www.pagepluscellular.com/W...20Map.aspx

As of 5/19/2014, Verizon iPhone 4 and 4S models can now be officially activated on PP. iPhone 5/5s models are still not officially allowed and will not activate without flashing. YMMV.

Calling Mart discount codes are likely to be 5% for now on at the HIGHEST. I still recommend and use PagePlusDirect.com for discounted pins at a 6% discount (or higher)

Other Plans available:

"The 12" - $12/month. Includes: 250 Minutes / 250 SMS or MMS / 10MB Data
Unlimited TnT - $39.95/month. Includes: Unlimited Minutes / Unlimited SMS or MMS (not including data) / 20MB Data
"The 55" - $55/month. Includes: Unlimited Minutes / Unlimited SMS or MMS (not including data) / 500MB Data

Page Plus dealers sell a prepaid card. 2000 minutes @ 4 cents, or texts @ 5 cents. $80, expires in one year. You can use data with that too. 1mb for 10 cents or whatever.

Selectel has a similar, actually better in many ways plan. $75 for 2000 minutes AND 1500 texts. Expires in one year. You can add a smaller, different card if you go over or want data. And Page Plus has roaming areas -- the phone works there, but you get charged more. Selectel includes roaming.
My understanding is that after one year when you go to renew for another Selectel does not roll over any remaining balance while P+ does. Please correct me if I'm wrong, This (other than Selectel being a young company vs. P+) would be the only thing keeping me from choosing Selectel over P+, as you mentioned above in all other ways Selectel offers more value for this type of plan.

is there a plan where i can just buy like 1000 minutes and doesn't expire?
None that I know of, if you find a service like that let us know.

Most liberal expiration policy I am aware of is Lycamobile. Your balance never expires as long as you make a call or send a text once every 90 days. The (big) catch is it is a T-mo MNVO w/no roaming off T-mo network. Deal killer for many.

Note to iBoo- P+ $80 cards can usually be found/purchased for $73-$75, be aware P+ charges .50 a month regardless of usage on pay per min. plans.

Correct. That's the first thing I thought about and was going to mention when clicking on this thread again, but you beat me to it.

So Selectel gives you more minutes and texts for the year, which is good if you actually use them, but, if you use some minutes and text but not that many, it's probably better to go $80 card on Page Plus and then add $10 cards to it every 4 months after that to keep rolling it over.

And if you use nearly no minutes or text, a $10 card expiring every 4 months isn't bad itself. Page Plus does send you a text a few days before your time expires to remind you.

Did you ever get your 3G working?
Didn't try. I asked only because I may buy a Moto G to replace my current device. Wink

Looks like LTE is finally coming. Rumored to be around end of August.

And it is Kitty herself. OK, NOW I believe it.

Maybe that Moto G won't be such a long term solution after all.

Looks like end of August moved to October 2014. My Incredible 2 crapped out so I'm back to an Eris for now. I guess I can survive for a couple of months for better options in phones.
