Yesterday I found
brand new Tracfone-family iPhone XR's available from multiple places for $180, including
Target,
Walmart, and all the Tracfone family websites (Tracfone, Total Wireless, Straight Talk, SimpleMobile, etc.). And some have 15% discount codes, bringing the price down to
$153 (plus 1 month month of service).
Yes, they're locked, but only for 60 days and
one month of paid service. Yes, more than the advertised $99 refurb, but those weren't real for most people (read the deal threads). Yes, 3-year-old technology, but if you want newer and faster and iPhone, this price point isn't for you.
Although some people have received refurbs that were like-new, many others ended up with aftermarket screens, batteries, and damage, which is frustrating and (I believe) voids the Apple warranty. I personally didn't want to roll those dice. These phones are
brand new and
fully warrantied.
The 15% off codes ($27 off) make it a
brand new, unlocked iPhone XR for $178 including 1 month of service. (after the 60-day unlock period, of course, and before taxes)
Here is an example. Use "WELCOME15" for 15% off.
Have to add a plan for the discount, which is required to unlock the phone anyway. I used the $25 3GB unlimited plan.

If you're looking for a device just to trade in for something else, or if you're okay taking chances on a refurbished phone with all the posts about aftermarket parts and conditions varying from like-new to non-functional, they can absolutely be had for less. Here's a link to one for $99:

Lots of people mentioned that their REFURB. iPhone 11s had 3rd party parts making them ineligible as trade-ins.

Also new XR will drop in price big time in 2 weeks.
Overall it's an OK deal.
Edit- this looks worse since you didn't include the cost of the 1 month plan in the headline price.
This is not even an OK deal.
Hi, just wondering how people got the iphone 11s unlocked at day 1 instead of typical 60 days. Any link where this was discussed so I can find more information?
