I don't know if the beta is open or not yet. I don't think I have any beta invites, but my friend might.
If you don't know anything about DotA, it will most likely be a little hard, but all the chars are new and everything works a little different than in DotA, so there was a learning curve for everyone initially. There is also a tutorial to go through. Doesn't really get into strategy or anything, but it makes sure that you know the basics of playing the game. From there, just watch how people beat the everloving piss out of you and try to learn how they're doing it lol. I'm having a helluva fun time playing it. Wow.. everloving - not in the FF dictionary. Helluva - in the dictionary. Interesting. |

I've got some keys if anyone wants one. I tried this a couple times and I hate it. I'm a long time DotA player and have moved on to HoN (heroes of newerth), by s2 games, also in its beta.
League of Legends is very much a trimmed down DotA: the graphics are more cartoony, there is no denying creeps, and practically no last hitting, due to the laggy game mechanics. I had some high hopes for this game (since it has some DotA devs working on it), and was so happy when I got into the beta. Then my dreams got pooped on. If you're new to the genre, definitely try out LoL. If you've played DotA before and want something more like an updated port, check out HoN. |

im still playing dota. i played HoN for a bit until a player used the VS copy, blinked into the forest then swapped to trap our top player. that turned me off the beta
