Official League of Legends thread!! UPDATE: S2 + DOMINION!!

You should try LoL... I personally think they've done a masterful job of making everything equal.

Of course you can see overpowered stuff if you're good and you get fed and whatnot... but that goes w/any DotA game as well...

I checked out LoL last night, and it seems like it will be really fun (I only played the tutorial). I never played DotA, so I'm new to this sort of RTS. I have a feeling this is the kind of game I could get addicted to. I will play more tonight and see if I'm going to stick with it.

Whoa.. this is awesome.. you can change the status of the server from "unavailable" to "available" if you push up down left right up up down down

So I played a practice game, and I got totally owned. I've never played this kind of game before, so I guess that's to be expected. I'm still not sure if I'm gonna get really into this game yet. I'll try again later tonight and see how it goes. I don't want to give up on it yet.

I tried to play it last night. Created an account and downloaded, did all the in-game updates, tried to start a game and it errors every time.

I can create a room and pick my champion fine but when the countdown is done and it starts to launch the game I get the Bug Splat message that the game crashed. It always loads back up and asks if I want to reconnect but it never works.

What video card do you have? That was the problem w/my friend...

Taokay, it might be possible for us to hook up over skype and play a practice game so I can give you tips. Was the practice game w/bots or people?

It was with bots lol. I definitely need to practice more. I'll try to play more over the weekend, and by next week if I can't get on my feet, I will take you up on your offer. Either way, it would be cool to add to my friends list and have someone to play with. So I'll let you know how it goes. Thank you.

I also thought about trying it in XP compatible mode (Running 64bit Win 7) too.

Just started playing a few days ago as well. Game seems super fun. The whole thing of being able to earn points to unlock new champions and runes to use makes it so much more addicting for me.

Just a pointer for new people that I seem to do, play practice bot matches to gain some points to use in the shop. I think you get like a -35% penalty, so you don't gain as much points, but you still gain some. I am doing this so I can buy a low point champion that I can always count on to use and practice with.

We should all try and do a game together if possible.

Oh whoa.... yeah, that's more than enough... though you might have a driver problem. When I first loaded it up on my desktop PC it bitched at me for not having the latest drivers (it didn't error out, but it did send a message across the bottom of the loading screen).

Have you checked their support section?? They seem to be pretty good at addressing bugs.. (seeing as how they just recently were in beta testing mode, and they still constantly work on the PTR server).


As for playing together... I should probably make another account to play w/you guys. I didn't realize how steep the learning curve could be until I saw my friend play for the first time, lol. Because of how matchmaking works, you wouldn't want to play w/me on my Phrozt account anyway.. you'd be fighting people way higher w/no benefits if you win.

I would like to organize something though and I'm more than happy to help people out! I'll turn this into an official thread and make a wiki so we can post our info.

I briefly browsed the forum last night but didn't see anything specific about Win 7 or 5870s. It was late so I was just skimming through, I'll have to look better tonight.

The new 9.11 drivers have been pretty crappy. Borderlands doesn't render right for me now and Crysis direct X10 acts weird.

Ha.. So I just decided to load it up again and give a try and wouldn't you know, loaded up fine.

I guess my computer just needed a restart
