We are kicking off the holiday shopping season with the grand opening of the Black Friday 2009 forum and our fourth Annual pumpkin carving contest! Last year brought in some interesting entries so we're anxious to see what this year brings. It's always interesting to see the creativity from the community. You only have a little more than a week, so get to it and starting carving that pumpkin!

Entries can be as creative as you want, but they must be PG13 or tamer and conform to our image rules. Also, entries must have a placard somewhere that mentions Slickdeals 2009 in order to verify authenticity. After we get some entries, we'll host them anonymously in a temporary forum and put them up for thumbs up/down voting.

The rules:

1. Get a pumpkin.
2. Carve it.
3. Take a few digital pictures of that pumpkin, and submit your entry. We are having issues with the pumpkin submission form. If you get a blank page on submission, please send your entry via pm to slickdeals.
4. A placard with the words "Slickdeals 2009" must be included in the picture to qualify for voting. Sample entries from 2007 and 2008.
5. Do NOT post it in the forums. We'll post the pics anonymously. Submissions must be made by 11:59:59 PM EST, Nov. 1st.
6. Starting Nov. 2nd, we'll all vote on the best pumpkin carving! The poll will open the morning of the second and close on Saturday Nov 7th. Extra 5 points (thumbs up) for Slickdeals or Black Friday themed pumpkins.
7. Only one entry per person, please. A group of pumpkins that create a theme can be submitted as one entry. You can choose to have your entry lit or unlit. Once an entry is submitted, it can not be changed.
8. Please do not post pictures of your submission in the discussion thread, or it will be disqualified.
