I received my A5000-026US a couple of weeks ago for $399.99 from CCity. I have no complaints at all when it comes to drivers and pre-installed applications. Everything works fine as expected, especially the Touchpad scrolling thing. In fact, I didn't know about it till someone mentioned that they're having problems on A6000. Bottom line, everything works fine for me! I hooked up the HDMI port to my 42" HDTV and it shows 1080p, that's amazing!
The keyboard is fine except when typing messages on Gmail...grrrr... I have to go back for mispelled or missing characters. Typing this message in here at a speed has no problem. Wish I can sell this one now and get a much cheaper deal tomorrow

What do people think of this Toshiba going at OD for $349?
http://www.officedepot.com/a/prod...5980-15-6/ Same processor with 250GB, 2GB ram, 4500M graphic, no HDMI. You think if I grab the MSI today they'll let me pricematch tomorrow? |

I am also wondering if Nvidia System Tools will overclock CPU and GPU on this notebook. Does it work with the MSI A6000 because if it does then it should work with this one. This chip should overclock like crazy with minimal heat. I would think you could possibly overclock the FSB from 800 to 1066 giving you 2.4Ghz which would beat the T6600 and hang with the T9300. I haven't seen any Nvidia chipsets that their system tools doesn't work on so this should work. The lower the cache on CPU means less heat and higher clock speeds! I might jump on this deal if someone can verify that the system tools can overclock from 800 to 1066FSB. At $329 this would be the deal of a century!

id think a t6600 for around 60 bucks on ebay would be a nice drop in... you could sell this celly to one of the "250.00 acer deal" guys and reclaim some money back... this dual core celly would make a worthwhile upgrade to one of those single core acer laptops!!!
for about 60bucks + ship is what ive seen the t6600 pulled chips going for adds 400mhz for reference here are passmark scores of various chips: t9300:1672 t6600: 1515 t3000: 1171 celeron 900: 795 Last edited by p0opstlnksal0t; 11-14-2009 at 09:54 AM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |
