Recyclebank.com offers a great reward program for recycling (thanks to nicemann for introducing this a few weeks ago). Just for signing up and using a promo code that was posted here a few weeks ago, I just received 20 coupons for $1 off Coke, so since my grocery store sells 2 liters for $1, I'm basically getting 20 free 2 liters! Smilie I also got a $5 off Huggies coupon. Smilie

If you don't live in an area that participates, you can still sign up for a free account and earn rewards in other ways. I just stumbled upon a linked site called Kashless.org. They offer a forum to post and search for free items in your area. You can earn Recyclebank points in various ways on this site. The fastest way I've found to earn points is by inviting friends (i.e. submitting an email address). You earn 20 Recycle Bank points for each email addy you provide. I earned 240 points in under a minute. Smilie This will get me 24 free 2 liters of Coke! Smilie They have all kinds of things to redeem your rewards on, even gift cards for Walmart, Home Depot, iTunes & more!

So here's what you need to do...

1. Sign up for a RecycleBank.com [recyclebank.com]account. You'll get 100 free points for signing up!
2. Sign up for a Kashless.com account.
3. You'll then link your Kashless account [kashless.org] to your Recyclebank account by clicking on the Rewards section.
4. You'll also see in that section a link to all the ways you can earn points on Kashless. Like I said, emailing is the fastest, but you can also create saved searches, post items, create your profile, among other things.
5. It takes about 24 hours for your points to show up in your Recyclebank account. You can then redeem your points on the Recyclebank site. I got my reward coupons in the mail in about 2 weeks.

Happy Shopping!

**UPDATE-Kashless no longer participating in Recycle Bank, but Recycle Bank is still a go!**
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Point Expiration

Q: Will my Recyclebank Points expire?
A: As long as your Recyclebank account is active at least once every twelve (12) months (meaning there's some points-earning or points-spending), your points won't expire. You'll continue to accrue points month-to-month and year-to-year, so you can use them for that perfect little something.

Home Recycling Rewards

"Recyclebank partners with communities and waste haulers around the country to reward residents like you for recycling. We work with communities to find out how much recyclable material was collected. The collective weight is then converted to Recyclebank points and shared amongst all of the residents in the community that recycled. So, the more everyone recycles, the more points you earn!"

https://www.recyclebank.com/how-t...cling-3232

If you are in an area with Home Recycling, an orange banner saying "Don't miss out on even more points!" should appear at the top of your page. In addition, if you are eligible to get rewards for recycling at home, you should receive a letter from RB with your PIN, located in the upper right-hand corner.

If you think you are in an eligible area, but don't have a PIN, you can look up your address here (this link will only work if you're in an eligible area):

"Want to bring recycling rewards to your community? Let your voice be heard. Download one of our letters for your city or your hauler. You could also contact your city through Facebook or Twitter to ask them to sign up for our recycling rewards program."

There have been different things available to those of us without curbside pickup but it is definitely more limited. Not too long ago movie tickets were available. There is also an automated phone system you can use to get things not available via the website. Call 888-727-2978 and enter the phone number on your account. I was previously unable to validate my number but I sent an email to RecycleBank Customer Service and they got it setup as confirmed. Once you have entered your phone number, go through the system to get to reward offerings - 1) Local, 2) National and 3) Gift Cards. When I checked gift cards, I had five available despite not having curbside pickup with RecycleBank:
$5 Target - 1500 Points
$10 Sears/Kmart - 2500 Points
$10 Applebee's - 2500 Points
$10 Lowe's - 2500 Points
$5 CVS - 1500 Points
I don't know if you can buy multiple of the same gift card and it may only be one per month or something similar. All in all you are not stuck with just magazine subscriptions even if you no longer have curbside pickup available to you.

Thanks for that info...it also included $5 Starbucks for 1500 points...unfortunately, even though the offers were available on the phone number, it wouldn't actually let me order because I am not curbside either. Bummer. That would have been nice.

I'm wanting to get Cosmopolitan 2 yr subscription, but it says "online reward". So does that mean I won't be getting them in the mail? Is it a digital subscription then, because I'm totally confused! Someone please help me to understand it!

You will get the magazine in the mail. "Online reward" just means that you redeem your reward code on a website to order the physical magazine subscription.

Recyclebank seems to have phased out most of their digital magazine subscriptions. If it is a digital subscription, it will be indicated in the magazine description. The only digital subscription remaining that I can see is Bloomberg Businessweek - Digital Subscription.

Tried to order gift cards through the automated phone system and it would not allow me. It stated it was for curbside program users only...

I have 7300 points that I'm sitting on. How do you get around the magazine subscription limitations of new subscribers only?
