Deal Details

Mentioned picking up this deal yesterday on another thread but well worthy of a new thread. This mattress is a Sealy mid-range *Reserve* model but with the same coil count as their premier Signature mattresses. Have done A LOT of hunting for a decent mattress and have not come across anything even close to this price for a Sealy Reserve mattress & box spring set.

This is for the Barryton Queen Plush ONLY. No other sizes or comfort levels are available at this price. Price is for In Store pick up ONLY. Delivery is available ordering through Costco.com but will add $100 to the cost. Was a very simple 2 person job to pick up/transport & set up this set. If you live quite a distance from Costco or your vehicle is not up to transporting this set on the roof or flatbed, then I recommend delivery or hunting for a better deal.

No coupon needed. This deal expires January 24th 2010.

Costco has a "no time limit" satisfaction guaranteed on all products (aside from electronics), so that should alleviate any Warranty concerns regarding purchasing a mattress.

Here is the link to the product & info. Note the price on the site includes the delivery charge. In store will be $100 less.

Sealy Barryton Queen Plush Mattress Set [costco.com]

My first time posting a "deal", so if I did something wrong go easy please. Smilie

Very good deal. I posted in the other sears mattress thread that I sell Sealy mattresses, we sell reserve models in queen size at $799+tax on sale, normally 1199+tax. This deal is better than my entry level Sealy mattresses. Only thing that I would be weary of is the return policy. The mattresses that get returned do not go back to Sealy, just in stock. If you do not get a frame I would suggest picking one up for warranty purposes.

I was wondering on the comfort of this mattress....how would you say it is, soft or firm?

This is deemed a soft mattress. So if you need something with a little give but yet firm, this is probably not the bed for you.

It is weird for me to say this but Sealy ultra plushes and plush mattresses are soft and firm. By this I mean that when you lay on the mattress you will sink into it, but the mattress will give you the support that is needed. I know it sounds weird, but after telling customers this and them trying it out most agree with how I described it.

Thanks for the heads up. Have to say though that all of the mattresses at Costco are fully encased in the manufacturers plastic/packaging. Unless they have a way to repackage?

Advantage of this deal is that it includes the matching Shock Abzzorber box spring. Regular profile only though (9") not low profile.

Reps 4 op.

Got this yesterday and there seemed to be a couple of sets left though I saw a few people with flatbed carts go around that area. What the heck is up w/ people touching up on your stuff just because it supposedly looks inviting OMG One guy was about to hop on top and grab a seat which would have sent it sliding off the cart but I convinced him otherwise laugh out loud

Anyway after grabbing a uhaul and getting it to my apartment we threw it in the frame and it works great. I'm no mattress expert but I believe it sleeps well. Memo foam on top means you get best of both worlds. Extremely quiet as I can hop in and out of the bed with no sound unlike every other coil mattress i've had. I was pretty close to getting their novafoam mattress but too many reports of sagging for my blood, and the included boxspring makes this a no brainer.

arg debating between this one and the sears deal still. Altho this one is much softer then the candle glow but it includes the box spring. decisions decisions.

Note if you use your costco executive membership you get an additional 2% cashback. Or if you have a amex costco card you could get 3% cashback if you spend up to $3k this year.

i got this earlier yesterday also.. was going to go the sears route but warranty issues with sears is not going to be as easy as costco.. i say this because i i had a serta i bought from sears 5yrs ago which is saging in the middle, called sears they said i had to make a claim then the claim department would call another department then i would have to send pictures when that call came in. then they would have to investigate the pictures.. blah, blah , blah.. then i need the reciept . hahah 5yrs + cant find it.. then of course there isnt a good policy if you dont like the matress from sears..etc..

we'll see how my back feels after a week. if not good take back to costco . no problem..

I sleep fine. But anything is an upgrade from an air mattress.

Too soft for me. Unfortunately it's going back. It is still a great deal if you want a soft mattress.

I wasn't keen the first night but my girlfriend LOVED it. I had annoying and persistent mid-back discomfort (not pain but discomfort) by day 3. Now my girlfriend has it and knows I am not making it up.

Bear in mind the mattress we are replacing is a cheap/flippable no name (Contemporary?) that is about 7 years old. The top is tight and completely flat. This design, I guess, is not in fashion anymore and has been replaced by lush and plush looking tops full of peaks and troughs. Not a good move in my opinion. Old mattress was firm to med-firm when newer but springs have gone a bit. No sagging in any one spot though and no back issues from sleeping on it. Unfortunately it's time to move on though.

We tried out the high end memory foam-only mattresses as well as a cheaper one. While they are different we agreed that at least they were FLAT across the top.

This may be exactly what you are looking for if this is what you are looking for.

The search continues...
