From the FAQ, posted Nov. 30, 2012:
"The current phase of the program ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on December 31, 2013, and you can enter codes up through 11:59 p.m. ET November 30, 2013. We started this up back in early 2006, so we’ve been doing this for a while. We have to take it year by year; the program has been extended in the past, but that does not necessarily mean it will happen again. In years past, extensions have been communicated near the end of the year, so please read the full Terms and Conditions and keep an eye on these dates. Codes can be entered through November 30, 2013; points can be spent through December 31, 2013."
From the 2012 rules: (will be updated Jan. 1, 2013)
"The current phase of the Program begins at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time ("ET") on January 1, 2012 and is scheduled to end at 11:59 p.m. ET on December 31, 2012 (the "Redemption Period"), but Sponsor reserves the right to shorten, extend, suspend, modify, or cancel the Program, at its discretion, at any time.
"Codes may be entered beginning 12:00 a.m. ET on January 1, 2012 until 11:59 p.m. ET on November 30, 2012 (the "Collection Period")."
"However, if an Enrollee enters 20 invalid codes on a given day Enrollee will be unable to enter any more codes that day."

- Ask Hank feature on the MCR site-- several are reporting errors when trying to use this function: If you receive an error, edit your email, and remove all question marks, quotation marks, semicolons, colons, and symbols, basically anything that is not a letter, number, period, or comma. (I didn't say it makes sense, but strangely, I have had much success after doing this.)

TIP: Enter Your Caps Faster
[DISCLAIMER: This might work for me simply because of my browser (Firefox) and/or certain combinations of add-ons, so it might not work for everyone.]
When you enter a code on the MCR site, I'm pretty convinced that the codes are pre-programmed with the number of points you will receive for it. So after you type you code (or copy/paste) and press Enter, don't bother clicking the bottle to select the flavor it came from--and (at least for me) you don't have to click that black X. Just type or paste the next code over the last one, press Enter, and keep repeating.
You won't see your points total increase until you do select a flavor but if you enter 10 codes, for example, and click a flavor only for the 10th code, you'll see them increase 30 points all at once.
~ Be sure you press Enter after each code, otherwise you obviously won't get credited for it.
~ Keep an eye out for the error box to show up. It's easier to miss than you might think when you're using this method.
~ As I'm sure some would point out, there's always the option of using the MCR widget (which doesn't ask you about flavors at all), but this is the next best thing if you're not excited about having to install Yahoo! Widgets just to use it.
Identifying Coke products
You may want to know what type of drink a particular MCR flap came from. If, for example, MCR has another selective point-doubling day (in fall 2007, there was a week when Minute Maid and Nestea codes doubled), it would be handy to know if some of the flaps you have saved up are the right type. With that in mind, I made a few notes on the fridge-pack circle-and-bottle logos which are currently in use:
Red circle, white bottle: All Coke products (Coke, Diet Coke, Caffeine Free Coke, Coke Zero & etc.) and Barqs
Dark green circle, white bottle: Sprite
Green circle, white bottle: Vault, Fanta
Lime green circle, white bottle: Vault Zero
Medium blue circle, white bottle: Nestea
Dark blue circle, white bottle: Fresca
White circle, black bottle: Minute Maid
Red (Regular/"Enter Code"): Coke brands
Red ("Get Rewarded"): Coca Cola Classic, Caffeine Free Coke Classic
Blue (Dark): Sprite and Fanta brands
Blue (Light/Turquoise): Dasani Flavors, Diet Coke Plus
Green (Light): Minute Maid, Nestea
Green (Dark): Sprite, Sprite Zero, Fanta Orange, and Fanta Orange Zero
Grey: Diet Coke, Pibb, Barq's, Fresca, Vault
Black (Small): Coke Zero, Pibb, Barq's, Fresca, Minute Maid, Dasani Flavors, Vault
Black (Big #1): Powerade
Black (Big #2): Minute Maid
The red caps with a red bottle in a white circle come up with only Classic Coke and CF Classic Coke (or unknown) as flavor options.
The red caps with a white bottle (only; no white circle) give you the options for cherry coke and diet flavors like diet with lime and so on.
Perhaps saving some of these red caps w/o a white circle may be benefitial in the future.

What is that model number?
MCR rarely gives us much info on their rewards, often even leaving out the model number. If you've gotten a reward, post the model number here so others thinking about getting it can do their research. You may want to include the date you ordered it, in case Coke changes what they ship out.

"Service is not available at this time, Please try again later" Error Message entering codes
Able to enter other codes, but getting this error with one particular code.
I figured out the issue with the code and this information may help others out in the future.
There was a space at the start of the code, which resulted in the error above. [MichCamper]

I had two big plastic bags full of MCR Coke caps, (and a few Pepsi & Dr. Pepper caps, and some Dasani). I googled the cap recycling program Aveda talked about a while ago to see if it was still going on. Click here

Confirmed working. All you have to do is enter a CAPCHA (obviously) besides what OP posted. You can then spend that one entry on the instant win of your choice (even if it's a different one than you selected)
