Thread Details

(At one time this thread was rated -5 only because of trashing by SD members which was subsequently cleaned up by moderator. See post #10)

Ryobi router table Model A25RT07, UPC 033287140992, Item 933016, for easy shelf ID the box boldly reads 392 sq inch working surface. Rang up as a penny.

updated title 3/21/10 to include more than just one cent items as some have taken liberty to post general finds, which is fine.

Here are some clearance faucets. I would have gotten more pictures but an apron came into the aisle so I didn't want to keep taking pictures.

The American Standard faucet has 324 (I think) as the last three digits of the SKU.

I checked the price on the in-store computer and it still showed $70. Would the register ring it up differently?

Just started reading this thread this evening. It sure sounds like there are some great deals to be had if you are lucky enough to find the items. My only thoughts were if you are lucky enough to find the item and do your part by keeping an eye on it, wouldn't the best thing be to maybe 2-3 days before it's due date to relocate it to a more convenient location?? I mean if you just look at the plumbing aisles alone there are mountains of things not in their proper spot. I realize this might not always apply to the really large items or items in a restricted access area. Perhaps in a highly organized store it wouldn't work either. Any thoughts on this??

Besides it, IMHO, being a douchy thing to do, from the various HD that I've been to, they are constantly reshelving things. A few times that I've left things around and gone back to HD the next day, they were back in its original placing. It may only be my area that have diligent workers but I would like to think that if someone else is looking for the same item I'm going for, then may the earliest person win. I just hope it's not the store manager.

I've found this to be at $0.01.
SCI Clean Encounters Spray Cleaner Refillable Value Pack
1 bottle of spray cleaner 22 fl oz + 1 bottle 32 fl oz refill

I don't have the SKU since the head cashier took my receipt. Barcode is 790027914007.
I've used the SCO and after purchasing this item, she took the item and the receipt and refused to give it back to me. She then offered to sell it to me for $4.66 which I declined. I then asked for my penny to be returned. Then I headed over to customer service and asked to speak with a manager and explained the situation to him in that I have already paid for the item and the assistant manager was kind to offer me the item for free.

NEVER let go of your receipt....it's your golden ticket.
By taking your receipt and the item you paid for, the head cashier literally stole from you. Good thing it turnd out OK and you got the item anyhow.

What is funny about this to me is that there was a local news story [homechannelnews.com] recently about theft from Home Depots and the modus operandi of the thiefs was that they just loaded up a cart with stuf and walked out the emergency exit. Employees did nothing to stop them - alert customers noticed and reported to police.

Perhaps the employees should focus on theft rather than stopping people from walking out with merchandise they have actually purchased at the price Home Depot has set. If they don't want to sell it for a penny, don't set the price at a penny. There are no penny items at Lowes, so it is possible to run an inventory/pricing system without setting prices to a penny.

I don't know ANY other store that automatically clearances things to a penny except for Dollar Tree. I found that out when getting random DVDs to trade into Best Buy during their upgrade & save promotions.

I found facets in the clearance section which had the yellow sticker on it with a date of 5/29/2012...I thought for sure these would scan for a penny. I took the item to the price checker and scanned the barcode of the item (not the yellow sticker barcode) and it was still ringing up for $117. I thought for sure it would be a penny...am I doing something wrong?

Same here. Just checked some faucets yesterday with similar dates. Price ended in xx.00 , not the xx.03 or xx.06 like in some of the previous success stories. The dates were definitely good to go. Maybe they are changing things a bit. I did get some .01 outdoor light fixtures the same day with the same date ranges, but the stickers were all xx.03 on the shelf. Going back this weekend for some serious recon. Bunch of items from my store should be ripe early next week. Will update with pics.... Happy hunting!!
