I am currently looking for a job and this thread gives the option of posting resumes, but I don't need thousands of lurkers checking out my info.

Maybe I will make a modified resume and put it up.

I hope this thread is as helpful as Tech Support. I know the techies get a lot of crap but they have saved my arse a number of times.

This forum is a LONG time in coming. I don't understand why SD didn't launch this forum much, much earlier. Fatwallet had the Finance forum for ages and it is the only reason I continue to visit that site.

Also, what's up with the name, "The Vault"?? I think that is a poor name and has a very ambiguous meaning. It could refer to SlickDeals cashback, some kind of online payment feature, or even job/career discussion (there is a website called Vault.com that is for career search and discussion) .

"Finance" or even "Money" would be much better, simpler, and easy to understand. I would recommend that you change the name to "Finance" or "Money Talk" or something that is understood instantly and has no ambiguous meaning.

Kharvel, I appreciate the suggestion. The reason we chose "the vault" was it keeps with our pattern for non-deal forums "the lounge, the podium, the vault". It also was a hit around the office. If you look at the comments, you are the second person to be confused by it, but the response has been mostly positive.

Got what you're saying but I suspect that the positive comments are probably from SD regulars who are used to the way SD is structured. It's the newcomers and irregulars who will be confused by the name. Just something to keep in mind.

By the way, can you let us know why it took so long for SD to create this forum? I mean, after Hot Deals and Deal Talk, this forum was a no-brainer addition given the fact that many SDers are very money-savvy and are always looking for money-making or money-saving opportunities. I'm surprised it came _after_ The Podium, Tech Support, etc. which are somewhat tangential to the primary aim of SD.

I can't speak to the sequence of forums, but I can say that we move pretty slowly here. We want to make sure that we can do something well before stepping into it, and the same is true with the vault. It's not as easy as just figuring out a name and saying "go!". Obviously there is room for improvement in here, but I think we're off to a pretty good start.
