How about getting a secured credit card from Bank of America. That's the first card I got. It has virtual CC. Didn't require a co-signer. And helped me build a VERY good credit score. Just my 2¢... Rep unto others as you would have them Rep unto you.

Does anyone have any experience with Balance Transfer Cards? I'm looking for one even though my interest rate isn't bad right now (under 10%), but on a balance of $7,500. I have fairly good credit, the only bad thing I've ever had is this high balance, other than that everything's been positive (I lost my job and had a period of time I lived off my credit card last year and that adds up very fast with 0 income). Anyways, I'm tired of paying the interest but I don't know where to get a good card or if I'll be able to. I applied for the chase slate because they had an offer where there was 0% fee and while they approved me for the card, it was only for up to 2,500.
Right now my next planned course of action would be to just apply for another card, probably one with 12-18 months 0% APR and a 3% fee. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

I have been an AMEX Blue Cash cardholder for the last 6 years and am still on the old "5% back on Gas, Groceries, and Drugstores after spending $6500". To maximize my rewards I buy a lot of gift cards at Walgreens. I noticed yesterday that there were some new AMEX gift cards on the rack that could be loaded with up to $500 but included a ~$6 "convenience fee".
5% of $500 is $25, so is it possible to buy $500 and then make $19? Once could then use the card as money or use a product like Paypal or Square to put it back into your bank account. On another note, my 5% rewards on the AMEX will expire in September and I will have to spend another $6500 to get them back. In the last year I have added a Chase Freedom card and a Penfed Platinum Rewards Card. Chase has the rotating categories and the Penfed will be used strictly for gas, although it does have 3% on groceries. There are no large supermarket chains in my area, so most of my groceries get bought at Wal-Mart, so the grocery cash back is not a huge loss. However, I will dearly miss the 5% at drugstores. Does anyone know of another card that offers the same type of rewards on drugstores? Thanks! |

I have the Amex cash rewards..does Amex allow you to upgrade that card to their Gold one (with annual fee), or do I have to submit a new application?

In the end I guess YMMV. |

Looking into this card for, if nothing else, the ability to get 5% back on bill pay. Never had a visa signature and not sure if I will even qualify. Equifax is 741 and all credit in good standing. What are the general guidelines for Visa Signature acceptance? Just trying to see if this is worth my time or if I apply but get sent the non-sig card instead and then stuck with a lame-o.
