Still don't know which card to get... Which of the cards listed give the most cashback without a yearly fee? I currently have a BoA world points mastercard. Which gives 1% cashback if you spend enough, otherwise it is under 1%. |

anyone have the Chase Sapphire card [chasesapphire.com]
It's a miles and cashback card without an annual fee. It has a lot of other stuff like rental car coverage.
Then again, I already get 1% cash back. Need a card with over 1% cashback :/ |

Looking for a card with 0% on transfers.
Right off the bat, Citi Platinum Select MasterCard looks like the one for me. (maybe Discover) Two quick questions: Any chances in getting the transfer fee waived? Is it worth the effort? Any cards with no fee? What are the 'caps'? Is this a 'cap' on how much you can pay down on your transfer? |

Depends where you live, but Associated Bank has a Cash Rebate card for 5% on groceries, gas, and pharmacies, and 1% on everything else. I think there's limits to how much you can get per year, but no requirements or spending floors to get the bonuses. And no entry bonus first year shenanigans. It's also just straight cash. As soon as you get to at least $50, you just call them up and they send you a check.

i don't care much about rewards programs; not the most important thing to me.. just need a card with a fair rate, no annual fee, and easy web-based management of virtual/one-time-use card numbers for use when shopping online.
could be a personal card or a small business one.. doesn't matter. any suggestions? When you buy more, you save more. And when you save more, you can buy more.

One of the few good things to come out of the new credit card laws:
Highest interest balances paid first: When consumers have accounts that carry different interest rates for different types of purchases (i.e., cash advances, regular purchases, balance transfers or ATM withdrawals), payments in excess of the minimum amount due must go to balances with higher interest rates first. Current industry practice is to apply all amounts over the minimum monthly payments to the lowest-interest balances first -- thus extending the time it takes to pay off higher-interest rate balances. I have some money I need to transfer next month and am looking for 0% offers. I have been holding a sum of $10-20K(car loans etc) at 0% for about 5+ years always paying the minimum in absolutely no rush to pay it off since it is at 0% and I have other things to pay down like a 6% mortgage. Well I have 0-1% offers from a few different cards that I typically make monthly purchases on but never carry a balance. Well if I transfer some of my debt to these cards then I dont have to worry about paying off the 0% balance and leaving the balance of the purchases on there at 10-20% under the new laws. |

Any thoughts on the Amazon Rewards Visa from Chase? I'm a college student with just one CapitalOne Mastercard that does nothing for me... looking for a nice rewards card
And if I get the Citi MtvU card, what happens to it once I graduate? Do I keep all the same benefits? Last edited by 10101133; 02-27-2010 at 07:52 PM.. |
