By stock pics, do you mean stock photography?
![]() What does everyone think about OptionsHouse for basic stock trading? I'm currently with TradeKing, but without mobile access, I've missed out on a few sells. Good question Flinstones. Rereading that, I realize it isn't totally clear. We want to avoid "spammy" posts- for example, someone saying "buy shares of X, it's a steal". A post saying something like "I've been looking at X, P/E is Y, they just announced Z, and in my opinion it seems like it's undervalued. What do you guys think about Z's impact on X?" is ok, as is a discussion about an IPO.
I realize there's kind of a fuzzy line there, and to tell you the truth, our guidelines will probably change in the future if we see conversations drifting in an undesirable direction. |

Broker recommendation = Options House if you're looking for a very cheap price when trading options (Especially helpful if you purchase lots of cheaper priced options)... Unfortunately the negative with using them is that they don't supply a lot of the real time trading information that you need, so you have to find a substitute for those needs elsewhere.

I'm confused too.
Is it proposed that all individual stocks discussed will always be in this sticky thread? Topics of market trends, economic trends, brokers and such all interweave so much and there going to be people of wide degrees of experience using the forum. I can see that the Vault may take a while to iron out how to balance the flow of topics but I do appreciate the sentiment of keeping Pump n' Dumpers from starting or trolling in the threads. Perhaps a good approach would be a couple "official" (or unofficial) threads like an official stock discussion thread and official broker discussion thread Can we rename this thread the "proposed stock discussion rules" thread and use it to speed up ironing out what the posting rules and guidelines will be for stock discussions? Should probably start a wiki with helpful links. Here is one of my best stock links:

How about an official Broker discussion thread too? This thread is supposed to be a "stock" discussion thread and look how many broker pricing related posts are in it. I see that happening continuously down the road unless there is a very obvious thread for those posts to gravitate to. Since the Vault looks like it is going to be a wide mix of things like career decisions and home finance perhaps an investing sub forum would make sense. For example the Freebee forum has a Magazine Subscription and Survey sub forums. Last edited by ShovelWare; 02-19-2010 at 09:28 AM.. |
