Todd S.: We also see that you purchased another pack of batteries on December 22, for which you earned $12.99 in Rewards.

Todd S.: Your total Reward amount for the quarter was $37.98.

tee: i checked online and I do not see a reward

tee: i also do not see any reward mailing to the house either

tee: the promo for the time I bought the hp ink is buy 2 hp, get $60 or something like that. buy batteries get it for free after rewards

Todd S.: Purchase Rewards are issued 3-4 weeks after the close of each quarter. Last quarter closed on December 31. A $38 Reward coupon was mailed on January 15, and Redeemed on February 14.

tee: yes I used the $38 reward coupon but that one was from a friend who also has his own rewards card.

tee: Instead of using his card to make that 38 purchased, I used mine by mistake

Todd S.: Staples Rewards coupons are non-transferable.

Todd S.: Customer numbers 2xxxxxxxx and 2xxxxxxxx have been linked as one account.

Todd S.: Regardless of which card is used while shopping, all transactions will now track to the same customer number.

tee: it should be different since we both signed on different days

tee: both addresses are different as well

Todd S.: Accounts become linked for one of two reasons:

Todd S.: 1 - they share the same mailing address

Todd S.: 2 - Reward coupons earned from one account are applied to a purchase on another account.

tee: we are from different address when we signed up. I did not use any rewards coupon because I did not get any since i applied for my card. my friend made his purchases recently and I scanned my card by mistake.

tee: we just did an online rebate by using his card for $14.99 x 2 and I did mine for $14.99 x 1. If it is linked, we have another problem since rebate for this item is 1 per household. We are from 2 separate household.

Todd S.: Although different address are listed, the terms of the program has been violated. The primary customer number is now 2xxxxxxxx. The accounts cannot be unlinked.

tee: we both did the deal in dec 09. we both signed up for new card account during that time frame. No transaction was made that would void the terms of the program up until feb 14th purchase. He got his rewards but I did not. Had I gotten my rewards the same time he has, none of this would be of an issue.

Todd S.: We apologize, but the accounts will not be unlinked.

tee: then tell me why did I not get my rewards for dec 09

tee: the link happens on the 14th of feb 2010 and that I can understand. Why I did not get my rewards for dec 2009 deal is what I'm getting at

Todd S.: The same exact Reward amounts were issued for both customer numbers. Identical transactions were made. Three out of the four issued Rewards were redeemed. The names are the same, and the address are only slightly different.

Todd S.: This is one account. Any Reward not redeemed will not be reissued.

How can we both be the same person? my friend received all of his rewards, $60 for ink and $38 for batteries and I received nothing. There are only 2 rewards being redeemed. Todd S.: You may be able to return the items, depending on the store return policy, but the Rewards will not be refunded.

tee: you can tell me what was being purchased for the 60 and another 60 and the 38

Wow. Anyone else read that chat transcript and think the OP is an idiot? I know that when I'm buying something with a friend that I always "accidentally" swipe my club card instead of letting him swipe his. Such a common mistake.

So the lesson to learn is not to use someone else staple rewards card or you will be link. Just like losing your virginity, once it is done, they can not unlink you. LOL

Wrong thread I know but at least I got your attention and I did say thank you for reading this.

Someone might find this thread useful.

I still didn't get my answer and when I call their bluff, they ended my chat transaction. I'm now on another chat to bug them more.
