I wish you much luck on whatever diet journey u embark on ! they are all tough if you ask me ! u just gotta get in the right mindset and jump in ! Cheap is Chic !

Thanks noung I will check that out on fitness pal. Right now I have been writing stuff down in a small notebook, I think i might stick with that or do both, since I don't have my tablet on all the time. I hear you, any diet takes adjusting. But the outcome is so worth it!
Jenny - I priced the heavy cream at Walmart, lol, I'm too cheap, but I bought some light cream. I'm not a huge coffee drinker, I go on a kick now and again, but no more than one cup a day. If I need it to help with bathroom issues, I could force my self to drink it with the fake sugar (got some of that new stuff, monk fruit I think it's from at Target when it was super cheap), and a little creamer or cream. I'm with you, eggs help me in that area too ![]() Solitary - congrats on the 5lbs!! How does that one work, strict for 17 days, then you do it on your own following the same ideas? Thank you for the luck wishes same to you on your journey. I didn't officially start my journey until today, but tried it out a little on Friday, and it worked well, so I decided that I'd go with the low carb, Atkins style I guess. I only ate 9.37 net carbs today, and I haven't felt hungry. Here's what I ate: Breakfast - 4 of the brown & serve sausages, 1 slice of bacon, 2 eggs cooked in the same pan after the sausages. Snack - 1 oz of each havarti dill cheese, snacking hard salami. Dinner - 1 chicken breast, cooked in 1/2 (1 serving) of the land o lakes sautee stuff, butter/olive oil, with 1/4 cup of canned tomatoes and 3 small slices of fresh mozzarella cheese. 2 cups of lettuce with 1 hard boiled egg, a sprinkle of swiss cheese and bacon pieces, with ranch dressing. Just realized I didn't eat lunch, i had planned on having a salad, had a busy day and ate breakfast later than usual. I drank a can of diet coke and lots of water. So far do good! Hope everyone is getting their shopping done! Last edited by MaineMomOf3; 12-09-2012 at 06:42 PM.. ISO: Dog food & treat coupons, string cheese, produce. NAPR WT's & MIR's for Anything!

Day 2 successful
![]() I think I ate about 18 net carbs today. Breakfast was 3 slices of bacon, and 2 eggs with some cheese on top. Tried an Atkins shake, mocha coffee something, not tooooo bad, not very good either. Snacked on some walnuts. Lunch was havarti cheese, a pepperoni stick and celery with chive & onion cream cheese. Dinner was a big salad with celery, tomato, olives, cheese, hard boiled egg, chicken breast and ranch dressing. Drank one diet coke and lots of water again. I feel like its almost impossible to east this way and lose weight! We shall see I guess, not weighing my self until either the end of this week or the end of the two weeks. Hoping the fact that I had my gallbladder out doesn't effect the way my body processes the fats. |
Great job!

Thanks noungning
Day 3 was a little tougher. Started out fine, but late afternoon I was having cravings, not for breads or bagels or junk food, but for chocolate!!! I did not have any, I know I could have had a piece, but chocolate is dangerous for me, can't often have just one piece (doesn't help that its my time of the month) but I worry about restricting myself too because it always back fires in the end... I only ate about 5 carbs yesterday, 3 slices of bacon for breakfast, 1oz salt & vinegar almonds for a snack, 2 hard boiled eggs with mayo for lunch, pepparoni stick for a snack, slice of provolone cheese and 1/2 a roasted chicken from the grocery for dinner (it was pretty small ). Not any veggies at all not good. Feeling better today though, no craving as of yet. Had 2 slices of bacon and an Atkins mocha latte shake (wasn't as yucky tasting as the first day). Planning a salad for lunch and dinner today, with chicken for lunch and steak for dinner, need to get those veggies in! Got a couple different kinds of Atkins bars to try, might try one today, may help with the chocolate craving, we shall see. Another question for you guys, do you ever give yourself a cheat day? I was watching Dr. Oz one day and he had the guy on who does the extreme make over with people. I don't remember who said it, or if I'm remembering the right show, but they said to be strict for so many days then have a cheat day, but not to go over 1000 extra calories, then to go strict again. It resets the body or something, stave off the cravings by satisfying them, something to look forward to during the week... Dh needs to uncover the treadmill, its covered in porch junk. Its out on the cold 3 season porch, which should be alright. I think a little extra exercise is what I need right now. How is everyone else doing?? |

Can't help with the low card diet...I'd rather give up sugar than carbs...
![]() But the bodybuilder I work with does a "cheat day". And he's stacked and training to be a personal trainer. So it HAS to work. ![]() His idea of a cheat day is of course like one oreo cookie or a twinkie, not a bag of oreos, soda, etc. But you get the idea. Lost our freebie internet at the beach cottage so not online except the phone, which is annoying to use for long posts. Trying to bring the laptop to work more so I can use the free wi-fi, but it means leaving the laoptop in the car while I work, which is not my preference. But it gives me a great excuse to pick up a starbucks (with carla's help) and relax for a bit. Anyone have a good gingerbread cookie recipe? I tried one, and didn't like it at all. Can't find the one I made a couple years ago. Have one bookmarked from Martha Stewart, but would prefer a personal recommendation. Needs to taste decent, be soft (the one I made the other day came out hard and dry), and not too spicy. The gingerdead men thank you in advance. ![]() I am bonding with my Smurf colored mixer over this though. Royal Icing is so easy with the stand mixer. I would have burnt out the GE hand mixer I own, and forget about by hand. Still need to sand and repaint it though. Parts you can still see the tangerine color... ![]() Hope all my ladies (and gents) are doing well. Anyone need HBA and want to get together let me know. Working on sorting through the garage sale stockpile. Tried to find a dropoff point for Sandy victims, but nobody seems to have one to suggest. Also have some candy to pawn off if anyone needs/wants. Otherwise I'll feed it to the locusts at work. couponing is the real life application of math your teacher warned you about Live close? Wanna trade stockpiles/seeds/seedlings/jam? Just ask! also having a yogurt each day is required (actually TWICE a day - 6 oz each time) - nonfat, plain GREEK is the best to which u can add sugar-free jelly to sweeten or truvia/stevia or agave nectar. In that same vein - can anyone recommend a specific probiotic ? I want to start taking them orally but there are some many brands out there now ! |

Had a very good rest of the day today. Had the bacon and shake for breakfast, a salad for lunch with walnuts, olives, bit if avocado, sprinkle of bacon, celery, ranch, havarti cheese and chicken. Never put nuts in a salad before, not bad. Steak and broccoli with light butter for dinner. About 12 or 13 carbs
maybe tomorrow I will try one of the atkins bars.Purple - good to know I wasn't imagining it! I think one Oreo is a good cheat sorry to hear you have no internet!! That sucks ![]() Solitary - I don't drink much tea, but I am willing to try anything thanks for the idea! Not sure how the yogurt ranks on carbs, I know the yoplait lights have more than my daily allowance! Dr. Oz was talking about a probiotic on his show the other day, he said the brand digestive advantage. Its in his site too, I searched probiotic on there and clicked on the first article that came up, there was an advertisement for it there. Pretty sure you can get a free sample on their Facebook page.
