So, I have been collecting a few different types of gortons fish fillets to try. Have about 5 boxes in the freezer, kept seeing them cheaper at the next store. Pulled one out tonight to try, garlic butter, open the box and I find a coupon, woohoo right, not so fast, the coupon is expired as of 12/2011... Find that strange so I check the box out and can't find a best by date, which I remember not being able tho find when I bought them... So I put that one back in the freezer and pull out another, finally found the best by date on the second box, its not stamped on like other things, it kind of flows with the writing on the box, so I found it difficult to see. I pull out the first box and check in the same spot, this box of frozen fish that I bought exactly one week ago from the market basket in Portsmouth on Woodbury ave expired in OCTOBER 2010!!! So nasty. I called the store to let them know they need to check the other boxes.

I ate the Italian herb Pollock, it was pretty tasty, and only 1 net carb per serving.

Down 2.2 more, to 12.6 total. Started the treadmill this week, think that helps. Happy weekend everyone!

Why not just search for recipes rather than pinterest? I have good luck just googling 'recipe followed by a few ingredients I have on hand or plan to get'

As for something fun to do, tomorrow is my birthday. So, tonight I am having dinner with my brother and his wife and my dh. My SIL birthday was Tuesday. Then tomorrow I am going out to brunch with dh and both sons. Then dh and I are going to a play which sounded good to me (and reasonably priced) back in December but I can't remember the name of it now. So it's a 'surprise', lol!

Because I love Pinterest lol. When I'm starving the food pics gets me every time lol

Lasagna was good last night too next time ill add garlic though I can't get enough garlic!!

Have had quite a few problems with MB w/ expired product in my area which is one of the reasons I don't shop them often anymore. I think they just assume that they get so much volume that they don't need to rotate product, and I have gotten some rude service trying to take expired product back to MB. I had brown hamburger that looked fresh on the top and have seen expired mouthwash from them. Plus, a few years back, a deli employee dropped a block of cheese (I understand it was a honest accident) and still tried to slice and then sell it to me. I can see a product expired by a month or so that doesn't move much which is the extent of the problems I see at Hannaford and S&S though. Fresh food is more understandable and is something to scrutinize more but there is no excuse for frozen food and nonperishables. But 2 years old on a box of gortons is enough for me to gag. It's a reason why I shop TJ's the most; with non redundancy in the selection = product moves fast so usually the shelves are almost clear before they stock it again.

Though, I should say I've dropped a good amount of money at Shaw's in recent weeks thanks to the GC cat deals and coupons they've been running, and the milk was 5 days to expiration, and yogurt was expired by 3 days. Makes me think twice to spend much more there. A lot of cereal only 2 months to expiration too.

Gorton fish isn't bad, I don't mind eating expired stuff. I probably had a box in my freezer since who knows when and I made it a few months back and it was pretty tasty...I think it was lemon and black pepper or something was 3g carb from what I can remember...

wow mainemom you rock !!! sounds like you are doing great ! (i am down 17 lbs but seem to have stalled ! i am about to finish cycle 3 which means i get to decide to go back to cycle 1 = very strict; cycle 2 = very strict every other day or stay on cycle 3 = allows lots more stuff ! )

Props to you; try to stay in cycles 1 and 2. Decided to go to Shaw's again with all the coupons out on their website. When you combine the $4 off $25 w/ the 4 gotta love great deal coupons, it's quite good. Ended up walking out with a very healthy basket of groceries for $37 mainly using store coupons with a PSP of $75. Finding Tribe hummus for $1.50 was great after bogo savings; I know there's probably a coupon out for it but I usually buy TJ's brand.

pffffltttttttt can't get coupons.com to work right now !!! what gives ...keeps telling me to install coupon printer but won't let me (AND i shouldn't need to since i print from them alllll the time ! )

I don't mind eating expired stuff either, but it was 2 years expired when I purchased it... I do have limits!!!! if it was in my own freezer, I don't know that I would have eaten it after 2 years though, maybe one...

I hear ya, you have to make the decision for your self, which cycle are you most comfortable in? I would imagine cycle 1 would be tough to maintain for a long time. 2 and 3 sound more like life time cycles. Good luck and let us know how you do!!

Weighed in this morning, down exactly 4 more lbs. Either I had a lot of water weight to lose this week or the exercise is working! 16.6 total now.

bah i am holding steady at 18 lbs ! scale is not my friend these days, but my husband told me my jeans were hanging off me yesterday so that just about made my day !
got a fundraiser tonite - spaghetti dinner - not sure how that's gonna play out

I relapsed my cold, so I'm still trying to break this cold first.
