Thread Details

I heard about Glyde, the eBay-esque site to sell videogames and movies, etc. Decided I would try it out and listed my item (Demon's Souls) earlier tonight, around 8pm maybe. Very easy to do, just put in my billing info and they said we'll contact you if it sells. 10pm rolls around, and I get an email from Glyde saying "congratulations on selling Demon's Souls."

.. I just sold a game in 2 hours? Really? Effing SWEET! Whee

Anyone else have hands-on experience with Glyde? I know Roland was thinking about using it, or something..

$42. Of that, I'd get $36 after their fees.

The only problem I have for glyde is fees. Sometimes, it is way too much than other sites.

I purchased two games so far from Glyde (second is on the way now). My first purchase Crackdown for $5.95 total and the game was listed as "disc only condition". Well when I received it, I surely figured the game would NOT work from all the scratches on it and it looked like it had a booger stuck on it. Yes, I said a booger. I was going to return it, but apparently if you return a game for being in shitty condition, you and the sender split a $5 shipping fee. I guess that keeps it fair but I felt somewhat trapped since I paid twice that for the game. I did send glyde's customer service and email and they told me to keep the game and issued me a $6 coupon code. It was a nice gesture, so I picked up a second game. I wish their quality assurance was a bit better (or existed), but that might add to the fees.

Considering they never see the disks having another QA is impossible. They just can make sure your transaction is quality.

i replied to your pm wizard.

Dude, for the seller glyde.com is amazing....it's so simple and easy to use and for the lazy person (i.e: me) there is no rival.

Adding stuff to your sell on your account is ridiculously easy. Yesterday morning I placed MW2 for $35 on the site and by the afternoon it was sold.

I also sold Bio2 through glyde.com for $44.75.

Once the funds are available in your glyde account you can have the funds transferred to your checking account.

I love the service so far. The fees might be a tiny bit more than other sites but the ease and accessibility is unrivaled IMO.

oh and customer service is also excellent in my experience. They reply to your email within a few hours (within 2 hrs for me each time) and the transactions are guaranteed.

however, the one drawback is for the BUYER. He has to wait about 8 days after purchasing something on the site to receive it. Which isn't all that bad considering the buyer gets to save a large percentage himself.

The buyer pays shipping, but the seller pays for the pre-addressed mailing envelope that Glyde sends them to put the game in.

Is that included in the "Selling price is $40, you get $35" cost?

Yeah.

For example, I sold mine for $42, of which Glyde took 10% ($4.20) plus the cost of the mailer ($1.20), so I take home $36.xx.

Ok thanks. I am looking to off-load some older games, and I don't really care if I only get a few bucks for them. This seems like the perfect way.
