Shaws Supermarket (MA, ME, NH, RI, VT) Deals

FWIW stopped at Shaws to buy something that was on sale for $1 - regular price $1.19 (juice). Had 75c coupons - went to SCO (just because the lines at the regular registers were super incredibly long) and when the coupon scanned the register said something like "coupon exceeds price of item" and then something about keying in an amount that wouldn't exceed item price (which the SCO attendant had to come over and do in "help mode") -

In the past, when I've had a coupon like that on a sale item, it'd just double up to regular price (not the full $1.50) - but now with the new register programming (SCO attendant said the registers just got another update - and she hadn't seen that error message before either) it's kicking the coupon out to make sure you won't get overage.

I know overage was always against Shaws policy (as far as I remember ) and many times cashiers would adjust coupons themselves to remove overage - but mentioning because I hadn't seen the registers kick it out themselves before

I know there has been alot of talk in the Stop n shop thread about the oscar mayer 10 for $10 lunch meats working for the cat deal. but i dont recall seeing it mentioned here.
I went in today and saw they had the honey ham at shaws. so figured I would give it a try since stop n shop has been out of the ham since the cat deal started. I got 5 $1 packacges 2oz. lunch meat. sure enough the $4 CAT spit out Im sure its been mentioned, but for those that didnt know. Maybe this will help if SnS is all out in your area like mine

Essential Everyday salsa (in dairy case) is on sale for 1.79 (normally 1.99), or 79 cents after EE coupon in the game booklet. I really like the medium restaurant-style.

I didn't think SCOs would take coupons anymore without an attendant...my stores SCOs don't!

Has anyone tried buy either Axe or Caress bodywash based on PSP and received the CAT? TIA.

Quick follow up - I snipped out the price tags and put them in a ziploc bag. Went back today. The CS person said I was the second person today to come back from being overcharged on split chicken breast. This was 9:30am this morning! She gave me my $6.32 back, and I couldn't help but notice that she didn't apologize! Simply said "hope they fixed that in the system!" Nice.
I'm going to scrutinize my receipt before leaving the store. This is the third time it has happened to me. Unacceptable in my opinion - and always on meat.

My Shaw's is out of ham but had turkey and chicken. I read -- but haven't checked it out yet -- that Hannaford has them for .99/pkg and the cat is working there also. First saw it mentioned for Food Lion, a Hanny affiliate, but apparently lots of stores nationwide are running the cat.

At the Stratham Shaws when I tried SCO the other day (hadn't tried a coupon at SCO in a long time since I hardly ever go to Shaws any more ) the computer rejected my coupon and said "no match" (which was of course not true). When the attendant came over, she said it does that so the attendant has to come over and approve the Qs.

But this message re the coupon exceeding item price was totally different - more like an instruction of what to do (key in amount that doesn't exceed item price or something like that) - which surprised me (and the attendant as well who hadn't seen that one before )

LOL I had to work at 4 am. they are about the same size yes. 5 or 6pieces of small meat. enough for 2 kid sandwiches or 1 adult lol

Kikkoman Cat details anyone?
I got 3 PONZU( citrusy soy sauces on sale for 3.39 and had 1.00 off kikkoman IPs a coupon fairy left) and a 2.00 OYNO popped out, so just wondering the specific cat parameters, I remember getting this CAT announcement but my purse ate it!
