Probably the easiest way to tell would be to scan the item at the red machine and see if it comes up with a "price with card." I'm not sure if these price cuts you're referring to are real price cuts (where the item used to be more expensive, and now they're just advertising that they've lowered the regular price) or if they're some sort of longer-term sale. The red machine is your friend though; if it doesn't show a "price with card," you should be good to go with your % Q.

Oh darn, it's so faded that you can't even read the numbers? I hate it when that happens - my closest CVS kept insisting on using a register like that for a while too, and I could never understand why.

As someone already replied, any manually input CVS coupon seems to count against your % Q, even if it's input as a CVS MFR coupon.

One thing that you could potentially try though is to get the barcode number from someone else who did the same EB deal (or if you have another CVS card that you did the EB deal on, you can just get it from that). The barcode for every EB deal is actually the same across CVS cards. So for example, take something simple like the Physicians Formula deal this week - every single person who did that deal has a $7 EB with the same barcode. So if you could just ask someone else what their barcode is, maybe your cashier would be able to type that number in and see if it won't affect your % Q that way. If it's a deal that's more than limit 1 though, you'd have to make sure you're asking someone who's on the exact same iteration of the deal as you (e.g., if a deal is limit 2 and your EB is from the 2nd deal you're doing for it, you'd need to find someone else who did that deal twice too and can give you the barcode from the 2nd deal they did).

Personally, I did this once - actually asked here on SD for the barcode from someone for a particular deal and just wrote it in under the faded barcode on my EB. When I went to redeem it, I just commented to my cashier, "The barcode was so faded that it didn't look like it'd scan, but I wrote the numbers in darker so you could read them better" - and she was able to just type them in.

Of course, I don't even know for sure if doing this would allow your % Q to not be affected - but it's probably worth a try if you're willing to go through the trouble.

I wasn't feeling well enough to go shopping and let my 25% off coupon expire. Any chance I could get a replacement or can you use expired ones?

1) scan, beep, set aside, enter manually
2) just enter manually without scanning
3) scan, beep, enter the numbers, beep again, override with manager card
4) enter the numbers, beep, override with manager card

Which way was yours? I wonder if it matters. Or if maybe just scan/not scan part matters.

Yes, Quarterly ECB affect the %.

There's no % q in my 3 day ad either.

That does not always work.
For example, % coupons do not work on 1the section of 10/$10 grocery items and they are regular price and without card.

However, you can watch the screen at the register and if the item comes up "SALE", then it does not count. This works on these grocery items, they come up with "SALE".
