This is the CVS Coupon Discussion thread for questions, scenarios & chat for all coupons (including Manufacturers) that can be used at CVS.

This is the only thread due to the fact another thread that had CVS coupons only turned into a begging thread and was full of abuse.

I think there's something else happening here - don't see why a grocery item's non-sale price would count toward a $/$$ if everything else's sale price is what's counting. Did you have any BOGO, BOGO50%, B2G1, or other kinds of buy X get Y free types of items in your transaction? If so, the "free" items may have been counting toward your $/$$ if the cashier had not yet hit the total button.
Nope, no bogo items of any type. I had exactly 6 V8, 2 Edge Shave gel, 1 40cnt package of Playtex and one 18 cnt package of platex. So basically I had the playtex deal ($20) and V8 which only added up to $15....total of $35...and the cashier said I was at around $47. I threw in a package of instant oatmeal to get me over the $50 mark and the coupon sailed through.

So v8 was the only sale item you had? Sounds like one or more items were scanned before your card was.

Small OT - I noticed a lot of battery talk in CVS forums - here is a deal at Home Depot:

48-pack Rayovac for $7.88 - store pick-up

The stuff i want to buy totals 9.98.

I am guessing the vitamin water Q will beep? Or is the 4.xx cost of the water included in the $10? (fingers crossed Wink)

Maybe it won't beep. Do you have CRV ( bottle deposits) in your state? In Calif, you should be fine because the CRV will count towards the $10 requirement, not the free CVS Q.

I bought the Pampers ($9.99) and Vitamin Water. Scanned my card after the Pampers (so "total" was $11.99 for diapers) and the CVS Q was beepless.

The last $7 Q I received from them had two barcodes. The short one starts with a 9 and will beep at CVS since their registers don't recognize them. The long barcode should sail right through. I just tell the cashier to scan the long one and never have any problems.

I don't know why the message was "coupon exceeds limit."
That might be the reason. I know my cashier always scans the short bar code.
thanks and repped.

No all the items were on sale but yes she did scan an item before my card. But I don't know why that would matter. I attached my receipt so you could see.

Only V8 were on sale. See "you saved x.xx" on the receipt. The other items were reg price.
Giving ecb is not the same as sale. So, nothing unusual here - reg price for everything counted.

Yeah, if the cashier scanned your item first before your card, the register sees your total as pre-card/pre-sales total.

Your actual total was 41.15, but the register sees it as $53.09 (I believe), unless the cashier hits total.

Ok...cool. Like I said I am not wise in all the ways CVS but now that I know this it certainly makes it easier to get to $50. Thanks for everyone's help.

Only way I know of is to have bogo, bogo50, b2g1, etc. items in your order. Then your subtotal can go negative up to the amount of your bogo, bogo50, b2g1, etc. "savings."

if I used 1 of the medicare % off Q already, can I scan another medicare promo card to my same card? It says -limit 1, but thought I read that some have done this successfully.
