Thread Details

This is the CVS Coupon Discussion thread for questions, scenarios & chat for all coupons (including Manufacturers) that can be used at CVS.

This is the only thread due to the fact another thread that had CVS coupons only turned into a begging thread and was full of abuse.

They can be used for up to a week with no beeps, if your store knows how to do it.
Does this apply to CRTs as well? Thanks!

ETA: And just wanted to let everyone know that the $1 Mars valentines bag candy is coded as x/xx. No idea what xx is, but my subtotal was $40.84 and I used 2 4/20's and this CRT beeped exceeds x/xx or whatever that error message is. (Cashier showed me on the screen.) I just handed her another one of the M&M deal of the day Q's instead.

Yes it does, but it does NOT work for regular CVS coupons, only what is printed either In store from coupon center, or a CRT. Not from like CVS.com, like the Pepsi and M&M's coupons.

Lol, good response from you. Wow. Someone should have taught you not to throw out an insult right before you ask a favor, lol.

Oh yea BTW no " trick" to it. Experienced managers KNOW what to do.
Lol, indeed. Personally, I appreciate the insights.

I rarely have any expired ECB, but just in case, is there a preferred way to use them?

I think I used one once, a few days late. The cashier typed a bunch on the screen and then accepted the ecb,as I recall Confused

My store always used to punch in the numbers on the CRT. (I think that's what they were punching in.) But then several months back, the manager told me that they don't always get reimbursed when they do it this way. So I haven't tried one since. It's my favorite store and I try to stay in their good graces.

You know, again, it is about choices from the manager, personally, if I can get it to go through without manually in putting it, I will eat that little cost, but that is my choice. Your manager makes his own choices about excepting expireds.

Wondering if someone can help me figure out a beep. Usually I can pinpoint exactly why a beep at CVS happens, especially on MQs, but this one has me awfully stumped.

Tonight I bought 4 Lays chips, 4 Tostitos, and 6 other items (dip, Coricidin, etc.). I had winetags for $1 off any $2+ salty snack purchase, no wine purchase required. I tried to use 8 of them in my order; obviously the manufacturer code did not match any of my Lays/Tostitos, but the short barcode was a 992.

Anyway, I handed over CVS coupons and EBs first, and then the 8 salty snack winetags were the first MQs scanned. The first 2 winetags went through fine (I believe my cashier scanned the extended barcode on both, but she had to select taxable or nontaxable both times before the $1 came off). Then, starting with the 3rd winetag, scanning either the short or extended barcode would still result in prompting for taxable/nontaxable, but when she hit taxable, it gave an "exceeds limit" error.

My cashier was wonderful and pushed through all 6 of my remaining coupons, but I'd really prefer that that wouldn't have to happen, since I would hate to get any of my cashiers flagged for manually inputting too many coupons. The "normal" MQs I used after the winetags (free dip wyb 2 Tostitos, $2 Coricidin) still worked fine.

But I'm really confused by why 2 of the 992's went through, but then a 3rd wouldn't? Is it possible that 992's are limited to 2 per transaction if the manufacturer code doesn't match? TIA for any insight!

Has anyone gotten their ES 20% this week? I had one print today (exp 2/11) and not sure if it is for last week, this week or if it is the one that CS "reset".

I called last week to get my 20% sent to me that hadn't printed in the previous week. She said 1 would print in 48 hours...those are typically generic...and would be good for 30 days. She also said I had one ES 20% that was expired/unused and would reset that one for me. Do those come thru as generic or actual ES 20%?

Still missing 1 courtesy 20% off that should have printed (sent from CS) but now trying to figure out what today's 20% is from (does say ES).

Any help in deciphering would be greatly appreciated!

ES that expired and are reset by CS comes out as the usual ES with a 1 week expiration date.

Nope, haven't gotten any ES for the one that was suppose to print Friday. I did call today and got issued another courtesy 20%. If last week was any indication, it may print out tomorrow. Wasn't CVS' system down on Friday? That may have caused the delay, but there was a delay two weeks ago as well. I don't understand where there are so many issues with it not printing.

My ES 20% hasn't printed for the last month. I had to call every time. They would issue a ES to me several days later after I call. Then the next week the usually ES would not print again! I think they are just trying to mess with me...Mad

Has anyone else had to have a new card issued due to the old card going "inactive"? I don't understand how a card could go "inactive" when it was just used the day before. Thought that maybe there was a system glitch that causes this?
