So how did you get your money to start trading? Do you make enough a month to support your "job"?

had funds set aside from a few years ago when i was saving for a new car, which i didn't end up buying. $ was from a lucrative dropshipping biz i had goin back then.

more than enough. like i said earlier, i picked the hod and lod (was short) and executed near-perfect trades. my goal was 25%, but ended up hitting 30-35% between two single, short option positions: staked 8k total, made 2.5kish.

can't take much credit since today was a very technical, easy day--given to me on a platter. if you followed any of my rambling/chatter, put some trades on = hope you made some $ too! Big Grin

I only have about $15k to work with (saved) but I don't do much day trading per say. I'm focused on reading Graham/Dodd's Security Analysis and learning about value investing. With value investing I need a lot more money to work with than I do right now though Stick Out Tongue

There are few people on SD interested in futures [wikipedia.org] based on technical basis [google.com], but you raised other items such as economic schedule [bloomberg.com] that, with proper explanations, broadens the audience for this thread.
Tried to address some of the terminology in post #3. Other people can edit wiki if they want to add any information. There's A LOT of info so it'll probably take me a days - weeks to edit.
