Can't beat $12.50/mo.? I pay $50/year for an all-club 24 Hour Fitness membership.

Oh boy! My bad, folks! Apparently 24 does NOT do renewal deals any longer. DO NOT waste your time checking on what kind of in-club deal you can get. Simply purchase this Costco deal (which was posted months ago and has been ongoing since) and enjoy your $12.50/mo membership. "IT CAN'T BE BEAT!"
Whan I got my renewal deal they didnt do it either, it was not advertised anywhere. I called in and asked for it a couple of times until I heard ok, yes and went inside the branch and got it. I just renewd for my forth year recently and paid $49 (not even $50). And its lifetime for us. So you may get lucky if you keep calling and asking for it.

They totally eliminated the renewal membership thing that they use to have.

I was lucky since I jumped in on the very last offer about two years ago. It was $400 for 3 years and $24/year afterwards. I told one of my friends to get it with me at the time. She wasn't willing to spend that much money at the moment (which is totally understandable) but now she's using the Costco deal. Which if fine..until the 2 years is up. We'll see what happens after that. But she totally regrets not jumping in on the contract offer 2 years ago.

I beg to differ. My 24hr location is fantastic. Has lots of equipment including over 20 treadmills and very nice clean amenities. The staff is super friendly and I love their Kids Club (which is like a mini Chuck E Cheeses.) The club does not have a pool, jacuzzi or cafe. No matter. I am there mainly to workout, shower and stretch. It fits my needs and I am happy. I used to belong to one of those fancy gyms with olympic size pool, social hours, bbqs, family gatherings, restaurant, etc. But I also paid almost $100/month just for myself. For what it's worth, 24hr Fitness does the job and in my location, a great one I might add.

24 fitness has the worst facilities across the board of any nationwide gym chain. They are not even worth the $12.50/month. Unless you like getting hit on in the locker room, waiting forever to use equipment, and ringworm all up in your mess.

I got both my kids these certificates almost 2 years ago (June). Can I buy another certificate and "renew" their membership?

I only need to do one as my one of my kids can now use gym at college. But the other one still has two years to go till then and uses 24 hour fitness all the time.

I did a Google and can't seem to find a definitive answer. Seems technically your not supposed to, but they let you??? With Costco's excellent return policy, if I buy a certificate and 24Hour fitness refused to honor, I'm assuming I can return it.

My membership is pre-paid 3 years old (in September) but has the $99 renewal in it. So I'm good. But daughter is already worried about her membership canceling.

I totally disagree. I travel all over the country for work and before joining 24 hour fitness when I'd travel I'd go to whatever club (regardless of brand) was close to hotel and get a 30-60 day membership. 24 hour fitness is absolutely no different than every other major chain. There are some good clubs and some not so good ones. If you plan on using just one club or just the club by your house, then for sure I'd suggest you check it out before doing this deal. But the vast majority are fine to good.

For example, I live in the Dallas area and been to several in the area. My "home" club is Addison, which is ok (and better since they replaced the aging treadmills and TV's). I use the two out in Bedford all the time and they are not as good. But Irving, the Magic one on Central and couple out in Ft. Worth are nice. I've also been to couple in Colorado, St. Louis and California (there are a couple in Irvine including one in the Irvine mall that are very nice).

Wish they would open one in Jacksonville. I travel there regularly and no such luck.

you shouldn't have a problem...just in case...go ahead and call and ask for the club manager..let him know you have a club near work but wanted to go ahead and do this there... his club will still get credit..

This is for the folks who got the 3 year prepaid plan with the annual renewal. I was wondering if any of you signed up about 4 years ago. I got in on the prepaid deal over the 4th of July weekend in 2007. Like typical used carsalesman tatics, haggled and stuff, ended up with $1000/3 year and $29 renewal for SuperSport and $600/3year and $29 renewal regular for the wife.

Apparently sometime back, 24 changed the contract where only the 4th year is guarenteed at the renewal rate only. The contract I signed does confirm, only the 4th year is guarenteed. It was different before. I read on some sites that they still just let you renew continously and of course they have the right to stop letting you at anytime but has anybody with the newer contract renewed their 5th year yet. It should be about time that these 5th year renewals are coming up.

warning: just some food for the mind, hot girls don't go to 24hrfitness if you're into that kind of thing. other than that, it's great and cheap to work out at 24hrfitness

Is that a law? Some rule? You have been to all of them?

Again, they are no different than any other chain gym. Depends on the club, time of day, classes offered, etc.

you're fine for now, just don't wait too long to pay it or you'll lose it...and like you said, they can change that rate at any time...now, if you change your renewal and ask for it to be changed to a monthly dues draft (which would be your $29/12 months) then the most it could increase is 5% per calendar year...i think you're better doing that...it would be a monthly EFT draft though...hope that helps...

I have a question: I am planning to buy this membership plan. What do i do in case i need to take time off from the gym and not go for a few months? do they put it on hold? If yes, till how long can they do it?

Is such a membership plan available for 1 year also..

ThanksOP..repped!

Tempting. I pay $26 a month for my One-Club right now. It's the only club around here, and I don't really need an All-Club... I'd almost rather do a 1 year for $200 type of thing, since I can't be sure what I'll be doing 2 years from now. Decisions decisions.

So, after thought(this post has been sitting here for a little while), I'm going to pull the trigger on this. Now all I need is a Costco membership =D
u don't need a costco membership to buy this. It is open to anybody in the public.
