So unrelated to ASH's post above...I tender the following:

Last night my oldest son can't sleep and so I let him in to bed as I'm trying to crash out myself and I have DUNE (dvd) playing on the TV to help me fall asleep, thinking that he will be even more bored then me this sounds like a good plan right? I mean what could go wrong???

So...as posted by me, I'm on the mend for getting a nice dose of Road-Rash from my bicycle ride home from work about ~3 weeks ago.

My arm is pretty much healed up and no longer making scabs, but my leg that got infected is a week or so behind the healing of my arm.

It's still forming a scab on it post-shower, etc...its well enough that I can now go back to showering in the morning instead of before bed and doing a full dressing on it, etc...

Well as we are watching Dune, Jack is laying with his head near my feet and has poked my scab a couple of times and tried to pick at it...after getting yelled at, he stopped. All good Right?

Well I guess the initial picking got a small part to start to lift up of the scab...and then BAMN!!!! he grabs that little part of the scab and RIPS off a Silver Dollar sized chunk of Scab!!!! EEK!

/felt the need to share.

I texted you! You texted me back once. Place for sale, landlord issues, life-threatening medical problems, sick with virus, itchy eczema, doctor visits, a neighbor using me like her drop-in therapist. It's been crazy. When you're sick and you can't even relax at home because there's turmoil there too? Awful.

Next time, lesson learned, don't allow child to lay near any area with a scab - it's like a magnet - they are drawn to it - must see if me/child is able to do anything with this odd looking object on Daddy's leg,arm, hand, finger, etc. Daddy, is asleep, he won't notice if I R-I-PPPPPPPPPPPPPPP it off all at once, nah, not at all ***child gleefully accepting the challenge***

BTW...most of the remaining scab came off in the shower the next morning.

Wrapping that dressing on my leg 2x a day was really starting to get old.

My point exactly. Dune is not boring and should not be treated as bed time sleep inducement. You got what you deserved and the kid got his point across - Dune is awesome and you should stay awake for it.
