Thread Details

Hi all. My name is Kathy and slayers750 has chosen my to start this new thread - Thanks! As the old receipt giveaway thread was closed (many thanks to Poker Junkie for starting that thread, as many people were helped and many gave generously), we are starting a new thread in which both trading of Rite Aid receipts and RAOKs of Rite Aid receipts can occur. There are several ways to use this thread:
1. You have a RA receipt with qualifying rebate items on it that you wish to give away or a rain check for sale items - no trade needed.
2. You are looking for a receipt with certain items on it, but have nothing to trade in return.
3. You have a qualifying receipt and are looking for a receipt with other qualifying items on it in return or for a rain check for sale items.
4. You have a rain check and are looking to trade for another rain check or a receipt.

When posting, try to be as detailed as you can - for example, instead of saying you need receipts for the Aveeno rebate, you should say that you need xxx amount of dollars worth of receipts.

The basic rules are in the WIKI. Please note that people are free to choose what to give away or trade and with whom they do so, so please keep it civil.

Once you've posted, please finalize any trades or giveaways by PM.

Any questions, feel free to PM me.

The moderators approve the following general guidelines below for this thread, and thus these will become the guidelines that are in effect for this thread.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

General guidelines for the RA Receipt RAOK and Trading thread:
* The spirit of this thread is to give away or trade RA receipts to help other SDers to complete their deals, not to sell receipts.
Only trading RA receipt for another RA receipt is allowed. Rain checks are also allowed to be traded or given away.
Please do not offer to trade coupons, inserts, rebate forms, etc., etc.
* If you need a receipt to complete a deal, or have a receipt to offer, post it in the thread, and also in the wiki, stating your username and the date of your request.
If you post in the thread, and not in the wiki, your request or offer could be overlooked when the thread gets busy.
If you post in the wiki, but not in the thread, we have no way of contacting you!

* Once your request or offer has been fulfilled, please be so kind to edit your post, and also delete it from the wiki. Many tend to forget to do that.
* Do not post receipt information directly in the thread. This can result in lurkers getting the information instead of registered users.
Please correspond via PM.
* Do not expect from others to do the RA shopping for you.
If you need to complete a deal, and the deal is still alive and well, please try to do everything you can to complete it yourself when you still have time to do it, so that you don’t lose the credit that you already have, if nobody else can give you the receipt that you are looking for.
--------------------------------

Did you lose your SCR receipt? If so, try to remember the approximate time, the day, the register, the amount you paid OOP, and some of the items on the receipt. The manager is able to look up your receipt with this info. The more info you give the manager, the faster and easier it will be to find your receipt. Keep in mind that it will not be a receipt on register tape but a printout from the computer. (If its for a SCR, this will be fine, since you just need the transaction number, etc to enter into your account.)

Thank you, kpark895, for stepping up to manage this new RA Receipt RAOK & Trading thread... and for the many other ways you help make the SD drugstore forums so great! Smilie If there is ever anything I or any other RA SD-er can do to help make your job with this thread easier, please be sure to let us know. Smilie Thanks too to the unknown other two SD-ers who offered to manage this new thread.

And of course, continued appreciation to PokerJunkie for the earlier incarnation of this thread... that was such an awesome thread & PJ is such an awesome SD-er! nod

I can't be totally sure, as I had instructions to copy the old WIKI into this one, and the "fulfilled offers" was there. But, I assume that, for instance, if you gave a receipt to someone, you might post - $xxx for rebate whatever given to "SD Name", or "received CRT from "SD Name", I'm all set (then put your user name). I kind of get the feeling from reading the old thread that some people didn't actually update their posts or the WIKI very often, but we're trying to keep everything as current as we can.

Is the purpose of this so that people won't think that you have a receipt when you already gave it away?

I believe so. Also, if you've asked for a receipt and have received it, post under fulfilled offers. You're supposed to also edit your post in the actual thread to reflect the fact that a receipt has been been given away or if you've received what you've asked for, or if a trade is completed, but sometimes this part gets forgotten. The original purpose of most of the WIKI was to have all the info about offers, requests and potential trades in one place, plus you can also post an individual request, RAOK, etc. Both places should be edited, but, for example, if someone posts a request, but doesn't edit, if the person fulfilling the request posts in the WIKI that it's been fulfilled, now we can know that the requesting person doesn't need a CRT anymore, even if that person doesn't edit their post.

Hope that all makes sense, as I'm trying to figure it all out myself.

I bolded a couple of things in the wiki instructions to make them stand out, because I actually didn't realize I was supposed to do that in the old thread! Coverlaugh I've been a bad RART (Rite Aid Receipt Trader)!

kpark and others, I have some suggestions on how to organize the wiki. Just some thoughts floating about in my head, which people can take or leave... I'm just putting them out there for consideration, as I think they would help improve the orderliness & usefulness of the wiki, and make this thread easier to use. Smilie

The previous thread was just for RAOKs, and that wiki was geared towards RAOKs. Since this current thread is for both RAOKs and trades, the wiki that was copied over from that "RAOK only" thread could use some tweaking for this new dual purpose. To that end, I would suggest having separate sections for RAOK offers, RAOK desires, Trade offers, and Trade requests. So it would be something like this, for the main sections:

RECEIPTS FOR GIVEAWAY
RECEIPTS NEEDED
RECEIPTS TO TRADE AWAY
RECEIPTS TO TRADE FOR

And within each of those four sections, there would be subsections for specific SCR or GC offers as they come up, i.e., when someone has or seeks a receipt for a specific offer. Example, using info from wiki:

RECEIPTS TO TRADE AWAY

MAY SCR #1 - J&J - Spend X amt, get $5 - Valid dates - Last submission date

ALLERGY GC #552 - Assorted products - Spend X, Get Y - Valid dates - Last submission date

Then, I would suggest that people not post in the wiki a list of all their available and/or sought-after trade or RAOK receipts, as that could make the wiki visually unwieldy if each person needs two, three, four, or more lines to list all that they have & all that they seek in trade. I think it would help make the wiki faster & easier to check through, if people put their detailed individual info (i.e., which specific SCRs they don't need receipts for or would consider in trade) into a post, and then put the post # into the wiki, so other people can check their individual post for those kinds of details. People could post under the appropriate subsection with a simple line consisting of "DATE - RECEIPT AMOUNT - POST # - USERNAME" Example:

RECEIPTS TO TRADE AWAY

MAY SCR #1 - J&J - Spend X amt, get $5 - Valid dates - Last submission date
Date - Receipt Amount - Post # - Username
Date - Receipt Amount - Post # - Username
Date - Receipt Amount - Post # - Username

[EDITED TO ADD: And for situations where a receipt has qualifying items for more than one offer, just put it under all the offers, with a brief note in parentheses indicating it has $$ towards so-and-so other offers, i.e.,
Date - Receipt Amount (also has $$ for Allergy #552) - Post # - Username ]

And as far as wiki maintenance, weekly reminders to people to clean out their fulfilled offers/requests/in-search-of's, and then complete removal of entire subsections when last submission dates have passed.

Re the "Fulfilled Offers/Requests" sections, it seemed to me that In the "RAOK only" thread, the "Fulfilled Offers/Requests" sections didn't really get used by most people. Most people would just delete (or leave it to others to delete for them) their active offer or request when it was fulfilled, as opposed to moving it over to the fulfilled section. When people did use the fulfilled section, it was to post thank-you's, which could just as well be done in the posts, pm's, or reps, I think. So, personally, I don't think it's necessary to keep that section.

Anyway, my 2 cents on wiki organization. Smilie And now that my head is clear of those ideas, I can move on to other stuff! LOL Have a good rest of the day. Smilie
