I am. I went and spent a couple hours at the hospital with her after I got off work and she's talking and responding pretty okay. She was at the doctors office when it happened so I think that helped a lot with the response. She has an MRI and some other tests in the morning.
Grandma had a stroke or something like it and is in the hospital.... Scary stuff...I don't like being an adult!
I'm sorry to hear that
One of the ladies I play trivia with..she had a stroke a few years ago. Then about a week ago she had the same symptoms of a stroke (slurred speech, paralysis, etc). Anyway her fiance rushed her to the hospital and they said it wasn't a stroke but something that had the same symptoms of a stroke. They kept her for a couple days and then she went home and she seems fine now. I don't really know what that is, I didn't know there were stroke like non-strokes.
I hope your grandma has a quick recovery with few lasting effects
And yeah, being a grown up sucks big time sometimes. This past week or so I've realized that curling up in a fetal position doesn't equate not being a grown up. Damn it, lol.
this is why we need you around here.
To add to that, I think you're the most beautiful and humble person I've ever "met."
and some other stuff like the mexican taco dip and rotini with marinara and fat free regatta cheese and Parmesan. I even made Kale chips for the first time, and while it's not the same as say Pringles, lol they were actually pretty good and very crunchy. I liked them.
So I was worried after eating this stuff the scale was gonna go back up cause it was all really good.
Anyway even with all those pies and cakes and pasta and stuff I lost four pounds last week! I'm getting such a kick out of this. I've been using things like brown rice pasta instead of regular/wheat pasta, switching stuff to healthier versions of stuff I normally like. Like the mashed cauliflower wasn't a dead ringer for mashed potatoes but it was close enough that I wouldn't have any issue substituting that most of the time.
When I first decided to diet I was toying with different places, Weight Watchers, Atkins, etc. Then I thought I couldn't count point for everything like with Weight Watchers, not for the rest of my life. I couldn't get rid of most breads, potatoes, etc like with Atkins, not for the rest of my life. So I kind of started my own thing and now I'm eating stuff like peanut butter pie and sausage pasta or whatever and I'm still losing weight cause of tweeking the recipes. Well that and I don't eat the whole peanut butter pie or fill my plate to the brim with food, lol. I really like this and I actually enjoy the food more than I did when I wasn't dieting, lol.
That said, Saturday is my cheat day and I'll eat the fark outta heath bars, pizza and cheeseburgers or whatever that day
Btw...the pineapple angel food cake I would TOTALLY recommend. I even texted Bertha because I couldn't contain my excitement about how good it was
1.) Pineapple Angel food cake
2.) The cheesy jalapeno bacon chicken and mashed cauliflower
3.) Peanut Butter Pie
4.) Turkey Sausage and wilted spinach and peppers pasta (That's in the pan, that's not my plate all filled up like that, lol).
5.) I forget exactly what this was. It was good though. Chicken and some kind of pasta.
6.) Tortilla crusted Tilapia over brown rice bowtie pasta with olive oil, peppers, broccoli and Parmesan
7.) Banana cream pie
