Please no OT.

This will not cover the weekly deals. See the individual threads for each week.

Different types of clearance:

1. The kind with official CVS tags on the shelves. These are usually found in many stores.
2. The kind on an endcap or special table and often have green stickers on them. These are usually specific to that store. Sometimes the discontinued items will show up at other stores with these stickers, too.

Post your finds, with as much info as possible including where you found them (on the shelf or in another place in the store). If you know of any coupons to use on the clearance items, post those too.

Different types of clearance:
1. The kind with official CVS tags on the shelves. These are usually found in many stores. Here's great detail from CVS-er here: (Please rep, this is good info to have!)

CVS has 5 stages that their clearance products go through. Four of these stages are marked by 4 seperate tags, which are the yellow tags that say CLEARANCE on them. A store may hit all 5 stages, or skip ahead to any of the further stages at any time. This decision is usually up to the store manager. Also, sometimes the item may skip ahead stages (aka get marked down further) but the staff hasn't had a chance to put out the tag reflecting the latest stage yet. (This happens at my store a lot, because we are very busy & understaffed.) The 5 stages are:

STAGE 1 - yellow tag that simply reads "CLEARANCE" (item is still full price, the tag is just alerting you that the item is being discontinued. For you guys, its an alert to keep an eye on this item as it reaches the further markdown stages)
STAGE 2 - yellow tag that reads "CLEARANCE 25% OFF - YOU PAY $X.XX" (item is now 25% off original price)
STAGE 3 - yellow tag that reads "CLEARANCE 50% OFF - YOU PAY $X.XX" (item is now 50% off original price)
STAGE 4 - yellow tag that reads "CLEARANCE 75% OFF - YOU PAY $X.XX" (item is now 75% off original price
STAGE 5 - items removed from shelf and placed in the designated general clearance area (item is now 90% off original price)[/

Looked at all of the 50% clearance - only the Sunbeam microwave at 50% of $59.99 = $29.99 seemed like slick deal. Interested in the movie theater-style popcorn popper at same price, but risk of mechanical failure means we'll wait til 75%, along with the rest of the cast of characters such as money counting machine, M&Ms candy dispenser, "acoustic guitar," etc. of equally questionable quality. Pretzel maker, cake ball maker, pie maker also at 50% off. I can report the pretzel maker works great, we've made some yummy pretzels already at our house! Just pay attention to the salt in some of the recipes, at least one seems to include more than is really necessary.

I can report the microwave works great, I had to get it for DH awhile back. I probably spent less than that stacking % off coupons, but he has been totally satisfied with it for work.

Still FP. Went this AM, manager told me they will not be going down at this store. Next week they will break the sets and put the items on their respective shelves, if still remaining.

Why won't they keep them until Valentine's Day? Perfume gift sets too.

SThe manager and I only talked about the Axe sets, so not sure about the perfumes. Some perfume sets were scanning at 50%, majority still FP.

Not sure if it's a mistake or not, or may be regional, but yesterday at one store I saw the Craig Android tablet PC many people have discussed in forums. I scanned it and it came up $49.99, down from $99.99.

This has been $100 for weeks and weeks, then leading up to Christmas it was on sale for $88.88. Best deal was always to buy it at full price/off sale and use one or more %-off coupons. That way it was $75 or $80, even less if you stacked % off q's.

I figure this is a clearance deal, so maybe no other % offs may work with it. In fact, the in-ad 20% coupon this week specifically excludes the Craig tablet in its terms on the coupon. But you could use a $10 off $50 if you have one, or two $4 off $20's if you have them (many people just got one in their email on Thursday).

I hope this helps someone. I have already bought 2 of these this past year and love them. After rooting (a small process to install Google services such as the Play store) they work great. Using Viggle and other apps, I have already been paid back for purchasing them. Only possible complaint is that the battery life is a complete joke, and lasts a matter of maybe a few hours of minimal usage before it completely dies. But, nothing you can do about that.

Always buy the one in the BLACK box only, as the white box version was an older, much worse model. On the black box, there are 2 small version differences out there. On the back by the UPC code, one model ends in a D and the other ends in an E. Obviously, the E is a slightly newer model, with very minor changes. But I had to buy 1 of each once I noticed, as I am a tech-junkie. Nothing really stood out as different between the two of them.

They all take micro-SD cards for extra storage. I added 8gb when CVS had the SanDisk cards on sale for $12.99 one week, then $14.99 the week after. They can be bought very cheap online (Amazon) or the next time CVS or someone has a sale (or if you stack %'s and just buy them now).

Good luck to you if you're looking. I think each store has like one left by now.

Happy hunting!

On a whim I stopped by a 24 hour store in Greenville, SC to scan my card. Mosied on over to see what was left of clearance. There was a sign posted that said "75% off sale 2 days only 12/28 & 12/29". All Christmas toys, ornaments, bags, wrapping paper, Christmas gifts, etc. were included. I am pretty certain it was just this store, as I stopped at another on the way home and it was still at 50% off.

Here's what I remember of the toys:

Barbie Paper Dolls
Barbie w/desk
Several Play Doh sets
Discovery toys
Barbie Head that you fix her hair
Small musical phone
Several board games
Puzzles in aluminum foil type bags
Huge 3' plastic doll

Decorations, etc:

Hallmark ornaments
Hallmark Happy Tappers
Hallmark Merryokee
Hallmark Singing Elf
All Hallmark cards
All Merry Brite cards and decorations
Rugs
Plastic tablecloths
Minnie/Mickey Mouse Miniature Tree
Minnie/Mickey Nutcrackers
Santa Hats
Stockings
All Stocking Stuffers that were in the individual cardboard displays for $5
Ribbon
Tags
Bags
Wrapping Paper
Regular Ornaments

There was also some adult gifts that were included:

Jewelry Armoire
Black Jewelry Box
Black Wall Shelf
Giant Remote Control

The fragrances were only at 50% off.

I am sorry this is so vague. I will try to go by there tomorrow to see what all is included. If I would have been thinking, I would have taken pictures.
